Hello all.

We finally recieved our NOA1 and i am so happy!

But then we tried to look for our case online on uscis.gov, our casenumber starts with EAC then followed by 10 digits, but everytime we try it says Validation Error(s) or something, like the number do not exist and we checked it 100 times now and it is the right number we are typing.

Then i'm thinking maybe it takes a few days or something before we can track our case online?

Did this happen to anyone else before? :)

Thanks for your time.

7/31/2008 - Sended I-129F to VSC (lost in mail).

9/24/2008 - Resended I-129F to VSC (*sigh* lost again).

10/30/2008 - Resended again I-129F to VSC.

11/11/2008 - NOA1

03/09/2009 - RFE received

03/11/2009 - Returned RFE

05/23/2009 - Recieved 2nd RFE

08/05/2009 - Denied. Besides that he turns out to be a total jerk. Case ended.

I've not heard of this happening before but it seems VSC is having some glitches at the moment it seems... (cases being approved with no online status update) so perhaps it's just the online system.

I'm sure you're anxious to start tracking...I know we were. ;) Hopefully it will be up soon.

congrats on getting started! Now pull up a chair and grab a stiff drink!

I know that pay, but i've been waiting for my NOA1 since end of July and i really just wanna get started tracking it, I have the patience to wait for my NOA2, that would take ages, but it could be nice to view what is happening with our case online, maybe an incoming RFE, who knows :)

It is like watching paint dry... You will have maybe 1 or 2 "touches" (if any at all), during a 180 day period... really not much to track.

YMMV

Yep, and in 4 mos. time you will be back expressing significant levels frustration about not recording any touches... It is the natural "life" cycle of a petitioner/benneficiary.

YMMV

I understand, it's like each and every step brings you that much closer (even if it really doesn't ;) ) ... it's still good to see there.

As I said, i've not heard of this, ours was up right away, but considering the issues it seems VSC has been having with updating lately (more commonly seen with CSC in the past) that could very well be it.

As pay suggested, I woudln't really worry too much... you'll be seeing the same received and pending letter with the same )*$)(#&$& date for way too long anyway! As long as you have a number you know they cashed your check and you know it's there. ;)

As I just posted in another thread, ours still doesn't show up online (applied and received NOA1 in July!). We were told that yes, we are in their system, and not to worry about the flaws of the online system, it has no bearing on anything. Yes, It would be nice to be able to see some evidence that we exist with USCIS, but oh well.

Hopefully yours shows up for you soon, but apparently it's not necessarily something to worry about if it doesn't.

  • 7/7/08 -- I-129f sent
  • 7/9/08 -- I-129f received at CSC
  • 7/24/08 -- NOA1 (finally!)
  • 12/2/08 -- NOA2 (WOOT!!!!)
  • 12/8/08 -- received at NVC
  • 12/22/08 -- packet 3 (with packet 4 attachment instead of checklist :P)
  • 12/29/08 -- packet 3 sent back with bits and pieces that I pulled together to make up a packet 3
  • 1/5/09 -- actual packet 3 received, but found out by via e-mail that they were satisfied with what I had already provided
  • 2/10/09 -- found out via call to DoS that my interview is scheduled!
  • 3/16/09 -- interview!!!! APROVED!!!
  • 4/7/09 -- MOVE!!!!!!!!
Crossed at Detroit/Windsor Tunnel... pretty painless, about 45 minutes, inexperienced officer, asked for and received EA stamp
  • 4/13/09 -- Married in New Orleans!!!!!!!!
  • 5/30/09 -- Filed AOS/AP/EAD
  • 6/1/09 -- AOS etc received in Chicago

I was on the USCIS website and came across this:

USCIS had an unprecedented number of applications filed over the summer. Our efforts to enter these applications into our systems have caused a delay in the transfer of information from our case control system to the Case Status Online system. We are experiencing delays of up to 3 to 4 weeks between receipting your application and its status being available www.uscis.gov. If you have additional questions after your information is available on Case Status Online, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

So...im giving it a couple of weeks then I'll follow it up...
