I went to the USCIS website to check my status and here is what I got:

On October 27, 2008, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

BUT, I didn't send it FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, I sent it for my wife!!! Shouldn't it say FOR SPOUSE???

Please help I am freaking out!!!

I-130 petition for alien relative.... your spouse is your immediate relative.

Emo, I have a question for you, since you filed earlier than us, how did you find out that you had the NOA1 already? I seem can't dig out in my brain to remember in any of those forms we filled out that we were asked to put our email address so they can send us notification if they were able to received our papers. It has been 3 days since CH lockbox received our papers, still no word. I may sound stupid but I'd like to know how can we possibly received an NOA1 in my husband's email except from receiving a hard copy? and since we don't have the receipt number yet, we cant track it in case status online.

I got my NOA1, the hard copy I mean. It was 8 or 9 days after CH lock box received my I-130. After you receive it you can go to USCIS and register with your case number.

once check is cashed u can get the number (fr the back) and register or wait for notification in the mail, once registered mark that u want email notifications when completed
