Former Reagan chief of staff Ken Duberstein told CNN's Fareed Zakaria Friday he intends to vote for Democrat Barack Obama this Tuesday.

Duberstein said he was influenced by another prominent Reagan official - Colin Powell - in his decision.

"Well let's put it this way - I think Colin Powell's decision is in fact the good housekeeping seal of approval on Barack Obama."

Powell served as national security advisor to Reagan during Duberstein's tenure as chief of staff.

Is this a case of 'rats' and 'sinking ships'? It's an odd bunch of Koolaid drinkers, that's for sure.

Reagan was pres how many eons ago? ... and his staff is how old by now ?

sure there is not dementia or alzheimer’s involved ?

now I'm curious ... what is to prevent someone with one of these diseases from voting ....

(note to self: need to google this ...)

Are you suggesting that these people suffer from dementia and that they should be prevented from voting? Is he older than McCain? What is the point, exactly? Born 1944 that makes him, 64?

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

what does age have to do with either of these diseases? why do some get ... others don't?

Reagan left office back in Jan '89 ... basically 20 years ago ... people change. There again, you may be the exception ...

dementia is being discussed in another thread ... religion ... politics ... they mix :P

Yeah, people change, sometimes one is so pissed off with one's own political base, one switches to the opposition :)

The interesting question is, why does he now support the opposition party. I thought your response to that was because he's suffering from dementia.

I think that was the response, until you pointed out that their candidate is almost 10 years older than him....a guy that served under Reagon

EONS ago.

Laughable, do you even know who this guy is? I didn't, but at least I looked him up before I started making dumb ### suggestions about his motivations.

So if you're Black and endorse Obama, it's because he's Black.

If you're White and endorse Obama, it's because he's paying you off?

Is that right?

Maybe he took McSame's slogan seriously and wants to put the country first. That'd be a good reason to vote for Obama.
