Employment authorization is an extra $340.
EAD included when filed concurrently with AOS...

Yeah it is, but she needs to work in the sweetshop while her permanent residency is still being established.

Only needed "if you want to work while your application is processed".

OK THANKS! That's what I thought. Three (government) fees. My understanding was always that you could get the EAD early with the K1 if you paid the EAD fee, but that that fee is waived if you wait until AOS. She's going to have enough to do without worrying about working for a few months.

When you say "application" here I assume that you are talking about the AOS not the K1.

How long does it take to process the AOS?

Actually I was joking about the sweetshop. We just going to wait until the AOS is complete since she has much more studying to do to get her barber license transferred here.

Average time for AOS is 3 months. I think you still have to file for SS# and then Drivers License. For me I have a kid, so another $600 for her and by the time they get here I will have to pay the school for enrollment.

OK, so the cost will be $455 for the K-1 visa, and then another $1010 for AOS which comes later? I think that's right.

Don't forget there is also a separate AOS charge for kids and it depends on age.

Is there a charge for the foreign consulate interview, or is that included in the K1 fee?

You pay a fee of $131 at your interview.

So the government fees are $455+$131+$1010 then, correct?

Employment authorization is an extra $340.

oh and there is the polce certificate and all the jabs that you are missing .................did you mention free hahahhahahahahaha

$1,600 and as a few posters noted, that does not include medical exam, police certificate, photos, etc.

Being that it could cost several thousand dollars, including costs associated with moving, it's incredible how many millions of people apply for visas to USA. Is it not a testimony to how great our country must be?

Feel so very fortunate to be able to do this with my fiancee.
