Today , after I came back from work, my wife thought she had a good surprise for me .She thought it was the Green Crad or something like thatbut, .it was a letter from the immigration service in California .when I opened it , it was another request for evidence for I-485 after I had already received one from the Lee's summit, MO .

I am given until November 27, 2008 in which to submit the requested information to the California service, or failure to submit all evidence may result denial.

1) The first request of evidence is for I-693 report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record

They mentioned that the my medical examination and vaccination record from the US Department of State have not been unfortunately received by the service. So, I need to provide the following:

I-693 MEDICAL EXAMINATION and IMMUNIZATION FORM , Supplemental Form to I-639.

I had done the medical examinations and took vaccinations in Morocco last December, but it seems I have to redo every thing again.

Do you think I have enough time to schedule and go though medical examinations and vaccinations by an approved US Civil surgeon. I live in Sealy, Texas and I have just checked those near my zip code from the USCIS website. And, how much money do you think it will cost me ?

2) Affidavit of support ( FORM I-864)

I had already responded to an RFE from the MISSOURI office, asking for evidence of income for I-864A, Contractor between Sponsor and Household Member. But in this mail, the office says the primary sponsor’s total income and her assets cannot meet the income requirement .she may submit one of the following : JOINT SPONSOR I-864 OR I-864A-Spnsor Between Sponsor and household member .

The weird thing is that they didn’t mention anything about the I-864A we had provided earlier for this application and to which we had responded for the LeeBox RFE. We live with my wife’s grandparents and they are the household member sponsor .Anyways, may be we need to look for a joint sponsor .Her family may help.

Sorry , I took so much .Thanks for reading my post and any advice or recommendation will be greatly appreciated .

are you able to speak to an operator and ask those questions or go to an office and ask??? seems strange that you're having to do and redo the same things? Do you still have copies of all the documents you've sent that they're asking for again? I suggest sending them in after making those calls.

Good luck

I also just got a RFE from California requesting Medical Exam and Vaccine by Nov.25. I'm set on doing what I can to fight paying for another exam. For one thing instructions for I-485 state that K1 visa applicants are only required to submit the Vaccine supplement and not the Medical Exam which was taken by U.S. Customs Border Protection when we entered the U.S. on the K1 visa. We had sent that supplement along with a receipt from the exam in our application. My RFE also claims that the U.S. Department of State hasn't sent them the records. I called them and they said they don't have them and never had and that USCIS just can't find them so blames U.S. Department of State. I called U.S. Customs Border Protection at JFK where we entered and they said they forward the paperwork to the USCIS office based on the address we stated we intended to be living at when coming to the U.S. Of course, we had just put my parents address because we didn't know where we would decide to live in the U.S. Now we are in Arkansas and I suspect my husband's medical paperwork is sitting in some USCIS office in New York. Meanwhile we've had our case transfered from Arkansas to California. From all the information I have found on this website everyone says contacting your congressman to look into the case is the best way to go. Apparently most congressmen offices have someone assigned to helping those with immigration situations. USCIS has the worst support and no way to contact particular offices. I did talk to someone who said I could file paperwork on asking for original documents (ie medical exam) to be returned to us from his K1 visa but that the processing time would be longer than what we've given to submit the evidence. After talking with the congressman's office they said we have to schedule an infopass appointment and try to get USCIS to resolve it before they will look into the case.

This kind of sucks since I'm 7 months pregnant and will have to drive an hour there and back to this office, not to mention both myself and my husband having to take off work. But I'm too pissed about them misplacing our 235 euro exam records. I figure we'll only redo the exam after we exhaust infopass and congressman's appointments. I find this quite unjust! I made the infopass appointment for Mon. so we'll see. Maybe you should also do the infopass, maybe they never forwarded your I 864A that you did earlier. Sounds like they aren't so organized.

Thank you .i'll try to call an operator , but they don't usually have exact information .it's a national phone .you can't talk directly to some one in the california office .and what sucks is iam just given almost only one month to take care of all this, and some of it is their mistake .thank you though.

make sure that CS doesn't charge you too much. It should be less than $50 to just fill out the form. No need for another exam or bloodwork. If you're missing vaccines, you will have to pay for them.

It looks like your exam was less than 1 year from when you filed AOS, why are you re-doing the whole exam?

All they want from you is the I-693 form since you didn't send one. My advice is to get the vaccinations part completed and signed by a CS and send it in. But this is your decision and your money.
