After using Skype Out to call my fiancee on her cellphone, I have to say I'm greatly disappointed. The connection quality is horrible, and most of the time she can't hear me. I also tried sending her a text message, and she didn't even get it. The quality is much better when I make free calls directly to her computer. I've used less than $2 of the $10 minimum I could buy, and I'm not sure if I'll even use the rest.

This gives me a dilemma... Do I continue calling her with the lousy connection, just so I have a phone log that MIGHT be asked for at her interview? Or do I give up and just use the much better quality, free service to her computer, and not have a log?

are you sending the actual boardpass stubs or photo copys? I worry they might loose it and request it again.

Also does the G-325A form from my fiance have to be signed and dated before sent with I-129F Form to the USCIS?

I ask because in the I-129F instructions it says.

"Submit a completed and signed Form G-325A (Biographic Information) for you and a completed and signed Form G-325A for your Fiance(e). Except for name and signature, you do not have to reapeat on the Biographic Information form the information given on your Form 1-129F."

Send photocopies of your boarding pass stubs. Take the originals to the interview, in case they ask to see them.

Fill in the I-129F and the two G-325As completely, including original signatures (not photocopies of signatures).

Does anybody know about snail mail letters? I have around 10 that my fiance sent me while he was in Basic Training in the US Army. I have some from July 2008 to August 2008. Should I include these letters as proof of an on-going relationship? And should I send them the originals or should I make copies and send those instead? |: I'm quite confused on the subject. And I have some slips proving I withdrew money when I was visiting him when he lived in Las Vegas.

I do not know which state you live in, but when I was in New York, lots of communities where immigrants gather, e.g. Chinatown, you would find tons of places selling calling cards. Store owners will tell you which card works the best (lower rate, good quality) as long as you can tell them which country/which province of China you want to make calls to. From my 7 years staying in the States with the constant need to call my family on the other end of the world, I tried a few and settled on a card called "Korea No. 1." This card gives me 1000 minutes, almost 10 something hours for 8 dollars. And the connection quality has always been great! Unless you call during holidays, like Chinese New Year, when you know everyone will be calling home, then you will have a longer waiting time to get through. Other than that, I think it's the best way to call. I have yet to tried the paid internet direct dial.... My fiance is also using those cards to call me now.

By the way, Kevin and Leilei, we both are November filers! I know you are from the thread you created *_^.

You could certainly send copies to take to the interview. Canada is a whole different creature than is China. You will most likely not need as much proof of bonafide in Canada.

To the OP.. anything you can find that will help you prove your relationship is going to help you in China. Do check out the regional forum here and candle for love for more ideas and more of what to expect. It's an uphill battle but going in prepared will help.

best of luck to you

You need to bring proof of an ongoing relationship to the interview in Canada. Snail mail letters are excellent. Try for a variety of evidence. A sampling of many is best. Have copies to give to the Consulate, but have him/her bring the originals in case they're asked for. This is for all evidence. Withdrawal slips from where he lived, hotel recipets are great as well!

Drop into the Canada forum Ber + Ter to for specific Consulate info if you wish! Here's the link:

The issue isn't voice communication... Skype works quite well for that. The problem with Skype computer to computer, is it doesn't give me a record of our calls. We have to go through the notorious Guangzhou consulate, and I'm trying to get as much evidence of a relationship as I can. The only point to using a phone card is if the company will give me a record of my calls. Skype Out (me calling her cellphone from my computer) gives me a great record, with her phone number, date and time, and duration of the call. And it's only 2.1 cents a minute. The problem is, the connection is spotty at best.

Feel free to join us in the November filers thread, bapacker.
