Like most campaigning politicians, Sarah Palin often praises the places she travels to, reminding her supporters what’s so great about their particular spot in the country.

Palin often lists off a bunch of adjectives to describe the locale, like calling the scenery “beautiful.” She’s also fond of saying that the people in a particular place “just get it.”

At a fund-raiser in North Carolina Thursday evening, she added a new one to the list: “pro-America.”

“We believe that the best of America is not all in Washington, D.C.,” she said to applause.

We believe that the best of America is in these small towns that we get to visit, and in these wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard working very patriotic, um, very, um, pro-America areas of this great nation. This is where we find the kindness and the goodness and the courage of everyday Americans.”

The comment prompted Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton to send this e-mail to reporters: “Just asking: What part of the country isn’t pro-America?”

Continuing the Bush trend of "being a uniter, not a divider", I see.

Here's a histogram showing red vs blue votes by county in 2004. See those tall blue columns of Democratic voters?

They're the anti-Americans Palin hates so much.

Then she should just get the ** back To Alaska. Well, she will soon enough.

maybe she should define "pro-America"?

pro-America means pro-GOP. Where have you been?

The wingnuts on Free Republic think Palin was right on!

Some excerpts:

*****

Hasn’t Sarah torn his ### up already during the debate? What is he a masochist? He’s not worthy to shine her shoes.

*****

Pro-American places??? I CANNOT FATHAM HOW people who call themselves Americans can vote for this scum? It is just way past my brain’s skill power (I.E. pay grade). It just blows my mind.

*****

It’s the Pro-America people, even the ones from Anti-American parts of the country that go to war to defend your right to undermine and destroy the country that you claim to ‘love’ so much.

*****

“I’ve never been to a state that hasn’t sent its sons and daughters to serve and die for this country.””

But see, Sen. Amtrak, You’ve been to plenty of places in those states where they would rather die than serve this country.

Those areas are typically colored blue on maps.

*****

There are parts of America that are less pro American than others? Yes, Sarah is right I hate to say. It is obvious that much of NYC, Seattle, San Francisco, all of Vermont is hardly part of America anymore. They elect the worst socialists and appeasement advocates to office and scorn American values. Sadly it is true, many parts of America are not “pro America.”

Ironically, those areas that are the least 'pro-america' are the most 'pro-welfare'.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

it's not irony, my friend, just the truth. "America" is not a blue passport. i see plenty of blue passport holding chinese on the united flights from IAD to PEK. they have chosen to remain "chinese", and will never be Americans, despite their country of citizenship.

some immigrants change, and adopt the ideology of their country of choice, but most don't even understand the concept of ideology. they are too busy trying to milk the cow, because they have come from places where "ideology" was a luxury they could never imagine being able to afford.

rome stood for 700 years because citizenship in rome could not be taken by place of birth, or purchased cheaply. it had to be paid for, and dearly. the US has a much shorter future primacy, because our government has chosen to squander it's people's inheritance on the undeserving.

"America" is a mindset, with ethic, integrity, and investment in a cultural identity. western penna typifies "America". the areas with the big blue spikes are just the places where all of the "visitors" live.

*imagines Nebraska as a country*

You don't have to imagine....

The stats are clear which states get the biggest hand-outs (welfare in all it's forms) and

Nebraska is not near the top.
