Gosh, I'm going crazy now.

I just resign last week from my job before I knew this forum. Now I don't know what my option is to fill out I-864. I was planning to go to school full time and visit my wife.

Do this form required continuous employment or I can just use my last pay stub (about 40k) plus my small self employment income?

Please help...

The I-864 is about current and future income, it shows that you can support the immigrant now and in the future.

If you have assets valued at 3 times 125% poverty line then assets can be used.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

YuAndDan is correct...AND....you can use assets of the beneficiary at 5 times 125% poverty line.

So the petitioner gets $10K credit for every $30K in assets.

Beneficiary gets $10K credit for every $50K in assets.

Thank you for your quick reply. Appreciate it!

How does self employment income taken into account? This should be gross income right?

2007 self employment income is about 6k.

Asset about 30k.

Does it mean I still need 1.5k to satisfy the requirement of household size 2?

Your 2007 income should consist of all income that you would report to the IRS.

Without a letter of current employment, your past history of self-employment would be insufficient for a promise of future ability to sustain support. I am not an attorney or accountant, but I would think that if you are not currently employed, and don't have sufficient assets to satisfy the guideline, you will need a joint-sponsor.

Assets do not have to be liquid.
