Ok folks, lots to type but I'll try to keep it short. I had my interview today for my K1 and was approved.

I stayed at La Tour Centre-ville hotel, and it's about a 3 minute walk to the Consulate. The travelodge isn't far either,but it was cold.

So, right to the meat!!

Doors open at 7:30 for K1s and Immigrant visas, which we are all classified as.

You go in, through security. No cell phones, food, squat! They'll take it and give it to you when you leave.

You go downstairs and wait in a big room till 8am, when someone comes to take whoever is there up for the first elevator ride to the Consulate Floor.

You do get off the elevator from the back, so be the first one IN and then you'll be at the doors to get out first.

When you get off the elevator, follow the arrows on the floor. You'll go hard left, another hard left.. And then you see these little window booths. You stand in front of the one that says 14.

A lot of people are there for Non-Immigrant Visas and that opens before your window, don't worry, you are at the right one!! Stay at 14 till the last opens up the window.

They give you a number and ask for your interview letter, then you sit down.

When your number is up, you go to the window it says, you'll be asked for all the things off the checklist.

You'll sign a few forms too (your DS156 and 156K).

Then they say take this back to window 14, pay, and then come back to this window and put your paper they give you here.

Then you go wait some more, till you see your number called again.

That's when you go into the room with the Immigration Officer. It is not scary. It's fine.

They will take your fingerprints, ask you a few questions and you are done.

Here's what happened for me.

I went to the Consulate at 7:20am

Waited outside till 7:30am when they let me in.

I was in the big waiting roomf rom about 7:35am-8:00am.

I was the first one in the elevator and I went right to the back of it.

Ride up, and the door opens, I turned left and left again and waited from 8:05am-8:25am when the lady at ticket window 14 opened her little shutter. Note: Don't go sit down, stand in front of that stupid window 14 no matter what!

I was given a number and told to sit. I sat from about 8:30 to 8:40 when I was first called to give my checklist stuff.

I handed it over (make sure you have copies of it all). This took maybe 5 mins

I then went and paid, as I was told, dropped the paper back to the window and waited about 20 mins.

Around 9:00am I was called into the room. I went in.

Was asked these questions:

Where and how did you meet your fiance?

When did you meet your fiance?

When did you decide to get married?

When is your wedding date if you have one?

Why did you decide to move to the US?

That was it! Iwas out of there at 9:15am.

I was the first one in line at window 14, so I was the first Immigrant interview for the day.

It was great. Everyone was pretty nice.

It's not bad at all. Nothing tobe worried about so long as you have all your items on the checlist, and copies of them all too.

You will all do great. I'll put my review in the Embassy part soon.

Congrats!!! I am so happy for you. Thanks for the extensive update, I just feel as if I have gone through the process already. I am not so scared anylonger although everybodys situation is unique.

Pro, I did receive the DS156 and DS156K, so not sure where you read that. I had everything I needed.

I'm moving Feb 22!! Woooooooooooo.

Right now I am cancelling OHIP, gym membership, and about everything else I have. Geesh it's a lot!!
