Timeline

It was about 10 days in our case, but others have said it's taken longer. That was about 18 months ago.

No easy answer to "timeline" questions, unfortunately.

Greetings!

NVC will do final security check, and assign a new visa number....If during the security check there is a problem ,i guess they will send it to FBI for more background check.....like for example you have the same name...so it takes longer..... or NVC will hold the case till visa availablity number is available for a particular visa in a particular country.......k1,K3, I-130 is not included bec....the visa avaiblability number in this case is not limited.

Thanks a lot guys!

But assuming that there will be no problem encountered (through HIS guidance:)), what's the estimate length of process? Bdw, they're going to send the doc to Manila Phil.

For ours it took less than one week to get shipped from NVC to Manila. My fiance had just received the notice from NVC on snail mail, and two days later, it was received at the US Embassy Manila. You can call the US Embassy Call Center number to check if they have already received it.

In My case, NVC receive it on 5/18/06 (Thursday) and sent it to the embassy 5/22/06 (Monday)....so about 3 working days only......

Then....the embassy usually receives the case the day after the embassy sends it.....they send it via DHL and you can track it.....it arrives the following business day at the embassy.....once you know the exact sent day from NVC, you can check previous posts about the DHL tracking process......

Good Luck!!! :D

Mine got there on 5/19/06 and still waiting for the hardcopy confirmation.

There are reasons other that background problems that can cause a delay.

For example, if you are in or have been a trusted trusted position with the US Government, then they will want to make sure that your dealings with a foreign national is ok.

Also, I don't think anyone has a clear idea how IMBRA impacts the NVC processing time.

IMBRA does not affect the NVC processing unless your receipt date is after March 6, 206. I think EVERYONE at EVERY level has been affected by IMBRA if the NOA1 receipt date is after March 6, 2006. It seems that they are still trying to work out everything and have halted processing of any case with the date after March 6, 2006.
