if we are not careful something stupid like this may occur. everyone has the right to walk in a park that they pay for out of their local taxes.

"Park wardens have been ordered to stop and interrogate anyone who is not accompanied by children.

The visitors who are quizzed have to explain their presence and risk being thrown out or reported to police if their answers are not satisfactory."

sad..i had a client whose brother hung himself in the closet ..the brother was 9 and the client found him./.he was 16...never got over it....still to this day..he has the guilt..as will the family.

.i assume it was suicide

News like this makes me wonder if one charitable smile from a stranger, or a hug from a friend, teacher, brother, parent...would have prevented such a tragedy. :(

i think ..in life..so kids are just 'lost'..that is, ignored to depression

The sad part about that is that people feel they can't innocently hug or even smile at a child for fear of being accused of something improper... :(

It is sad - and parents are overwhelmed because they have to do everything themselves... In Nepal neighbord will think nothing of leaving their children with a neighbor(or even a neighbor's foreign DIL like me :) ) if they need to run out to the market or whatever. And the kids are so trusting, it is refreshing to see but a sad reflection on how paranoid society is in America.

Same in Morocco. My husband was handing out candy to kids on the street he barely knew. He'd pat them on the head or the back. If the street kids pestered him trying to sell Kleenex, he'd turn them around by the shoulders and give them a blessing and a little shove. It was like a kind scolding. But just try that here. The only time he touches a child he doesn't know here is if he plays soccer with mostly Spanish-speaking immigrants who bring their kids to the games. Those parents don't seem to misunderstand. There seem to be some cultural similarities there.

RIALTO, Calif. — Police in Rialto say an 8-year-old girl has been found hanged in her bedroom and investigators are trying to determine if it was suicide or an accident.

She must have lost a lot of money in the stock market :crying:

"Park wardens have been ordered to stop and interrogate anyone who is not accompanied by children. "
Exactly....

I would just LOVE IT if a cop in Anchorage were to ask me that question when I am walking in a park. I can just see the millions now...

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.
