yeah the timelines have changed quite a bit. i don't know if it is still because of that person who wrote 2009 instead of 2008. I'm hoping for an approval in February although my timeline says end of March, beginning of April. I see many August filers were approved in Decmeber, so if January is September filers' month, then ours could be February!!! YAY!!!

In any case 2009 will be the year of many changes! Happy New Year!

That error got corrected. I think it's mainly due to VSC being so slow. Maybe they'll pick up now the holiday's have finished.

Do you think that the country in which the beneficiary is from has any effect on the timeframe of getting a petition approved?

Maybe with regards to the FBI name checks. Some popular names may give a 'hit' and have to be looked into further. But I suppose that could happen with many countries.

Sent in the paperwork on September 30 and got the NOA1 on October 03 (hard-copy on October 09). I was a bit surprised at the quick response  . I hope this is a trend. Well, it's a waiting game now. Good luck to all!!

--------------------

10/13/07: Spoke for the very first time (our "anniversary" today, )

12/30/07: Our first meeting (in Trinidad)

03/21/08: Her first trip to Boston

07/02/08: Her second trip to Boston

09/30/08: Mailed I-129F

10/03/08: NOA1

It's not the NOA1 that's important lol it will be the wait for the NOA2 that kills you.

So true I too filed in October and I'm so antzy to know what is going on.

I just wanted to say that this is a great website and without it I would have never been able to do all of the process by myself. Thanks to everyone who posts and helps out by giving us advice on whatever they can. I'm really greatful

Looks like the way the timelines are calculated has changed, so they now estimate your approval date based on the date of your NOA2 and not your sent date, which is how it should be. Only thing is is that it's shoved my estimated approval date back to 22 March 09 lol.

March, Nah, a good portion of August is already approved, some Septembers, and even a few Oct. (maybe Expedites?), but anyway if they finish August in the next few weeks, they should finish Sept by Feb early and be well into Oct people, so I think you will be a lucky one and get approved ealy - definately sometime in Feb, maybe early Feb if not even jan.

Yeah maybe, I did notice that there has been a heck of a lot of August filers, more than September I think, so once the bulk of those have gone, then it might be a bit quicker. I said earlier in the thread that I don't want it approved too early either as I've booked some flights for two weeks in April!

I wouldnt worry about that, after NVC, you got 4 months to get the interview done, and then 6 months to enter the US after you have your visa. So April is not a huge problem unless you have a lot of RFE and delays, but certainly not for being too early.
