I'm a october filer....altho i did send it to the california location...im sure we can all comment on how sucky it is to wait and pay all this money :)

my check got cashed today. i cant believe i was so happy to have $455 less in my account, ha. although, there was no receipt number on the back of the check :( so i will have to wait for the noa1 to arrive to start tracking all of this. i dont know why some people get it cashed with a proper case number on the back and others dont have one. i hope this journey goes smoother then i think.

lol still no cashed cheque. I checked with Jeremy and he did write it for $455, alas I keep on waiting lol.

Have they cashed your cheque yet?

I found this on the USCIS site. Not sure how up to date it is. Probably refers back to when the fee increased in 2007.

Application and Petition Receipts

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) advises customers that, due to a tremendous increase in the number of applications filed, processing of fee payments and entry of cases into our tracking system is behind schedule. As a result, applicants can expect notices of receipt to be delayed. USCIS is working hard to deal with the increased volume.

I love how a former USCIS employee mentioned that I-129F's are commonly referred to as "Hunny Bunnies" around the office. He said how several people enjoyed working on those petitions since they would be loving and endearing, usually with accompanying photos.

Lets hope those hunny bunnies are hopping off to consulates around the world before Easter!

:crying: huhuhuhu i envy you my fiance sent the I-129F way earlier than you guys and until now he never received any hardcopy now i'm worried. i know that NOA1 is not as important as NOA2 but still getting everything step by step is a good sign.

We got hard copy of NOA1 today also

I was thinking of ways to play with the time we have until we get to NOA2. Have any of you heard of or seen photos of the girl who took a photo of herself everyday for over 3 years? You could probably google it.

I was wondering if we could do a photo a day for the next 4 months. Or a quote a day. . or something to have fun while we wait. What interests me most is being able to look back over the four months and see everything we've 'done.'

Any ideas?

I tried doing one of those 365 day blog things where you take a picture every day for a year. I only managed up to 30!

I suppose you could do a 'what we did today'

Today I watched 350 odd middle school students in an entirely dark building, since so power had been totally cut. After two and a half hours, the administration sent the children home, but we were to report to a professional development center where 40 some teachers surfed the web, chatted, graded and slept for the next four hours. A surreal day, and synchronistically the dawning of this chronicle.

i try to keep myself busy while waiting for the approval of my petition is by trying to organize my church wedding for october 2010. i know it is still 2 year from now but looking at places like the church and the reception area is quite difficult. i am also checking some photographers, videographers and some caterers. my fiance said i'm crazy for fixing it already hahaha but i'm just so excited and looking forward for 2010. since i will be moving to usa as soon as i get my visa then i wont have that much time anymore to plan my wedding coz i will be back in the philippines just a couple of months before my wedding day. i guess i'm just excited for my special day and makes me look forward for 2010.

by the way its been weeks ago since my fiance got the NOA1 hardcopy...i kept on bugging him asking him if he got the NOA1 and he kept on saying no but then i asked him if he got any letter from uscis then he said he got a receipt. ohhh boy he was looking for a letter with NOA1 as a heading. maybe coz every time i ask him about the NOA1 he is already sleepy coz we talk like 1am his time and 1pm my time. now i can say he got the NOA1 and was dated october 3, 2008. now im happy!

Well Tom said to me 'oh the I797C has arrived'. I was like what's that? I thought it was a form he needed for work as he has a habit of randomly quoting forms, esp when he was applying for retraining. Turns out it's the proper name for the NOA1. Then he added 'it's very fancy paper'.
