I have a question regarding documents for biometrics.

We need to bring ID with photo and notice of action (NOA).

However, in passport my wife has maiden name and on NOA – marriage name.

Is it sufficient to bring the marriage certificate together with these documents to avoid a problem with name change?

Does anybody have such experience?

August 6, 2005 - NOA1 was issued

August 10, 2005 - NOA1 in mail

October 19, 2005 - NOA2 was issued!

February 14, 2006 - Successful interview at Moscow

April 29, 2006 - wedding in the USA

May 15, 2006 - sent documents for AOS

May 23, 2006 - NOA date

June 13, 2006 - biometrics

June 29, 2006 - NOA for an initial interview on August 21, 2006

August 21, 2006 - Successful interview in San Francisco

All my wife needed was her passport, the appointment letter and a marriage certificate. Good Luck

Feb 17 AOS interview in Denver. Biometrics also done today! (Interviewing officer ordered them.)

July 10 Green card production ordered

Feb 04 NOA date

Feb 24 Biometrics

July 7 Received Passport in 3 weeks

Shredded all immigration papers Have scanned images

Yes, bring your certified marriage certificate. Not a copy.

That's all they need to verify the name change. I took my appointment letter, passport, marriage certificate, and NOA's.

Take your certificate and you'll be fine.

I had the same situation and brought the marriage certificate, but in the end, no one even wanted to see it.

But it's always better to be safe than sorry, right? :D

AOS timeline:

03/17/06 filed for AOS

03/28-06 touched

04/04/06 biometrics

04/05/06 touched

05/23/06 transfered to CSC

06/17/06 touched

08/16/06 touched

11/20/06 USCIS cust.service started inquiry about case (because it's outside of processing times)

11/30/06 approval e-mail

12/07/06 Greencard in the mail (= 8 months and 21 days for the entire AOS process)
