Yes, most people get this and you wait for your oath ceremony letter in the mail. If you get it, it means that you were approved.

When Lucy finished her interview, she came out with a paper, and it had the box checked to the effect of "A decision cannot be made at this time". There was another box that said "Congratulations, it appears you are eligible for approval", but that box wasn't checked. I'm working from memory here, so I've probably misstated the precise wording of the boxes, but that was the essence of what they meant.

We never found out why that box was checked. All we know is that an oath ceremony notice showed up after a little while.

I have no way of telling what might happen in your particular case, but you'll hear from them, one way or another. Either you'll get a notice to show up for your oath, or they'll tell you that they can't approve your application, and they'll tell you why. I suspect it's most likely that you'll get that oath notice soon.

How about these two boxes boxes being checked.

"You passed the tests of English and US history and government."

"Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval. At this time it appears you have established your eligibility for naturalization. If final approval is granted, you will be notified when and where to report for the Oath Ceremony.

Plus all six instruction boxes at the bottom of the form were checked.

It's that If that is troubling, even with that box checked, they just love to leave you in a state of limbo....again, to the very end...

no they checked the box " we will mail you a decision letter " I wanted to know about what i stated yes i passed both tests got all 10 correct, but with all that i have discribed am I approved or not?

Again with nebulous statements, your checked box reads almost the same as the congratulations that still implies the final approval or a decision will be made. Least you passed the test and the decision cannot be made box was not checked. So yours seems positive. But like I said, they love keeping you in a state of limbo, after not hearing anything for five weeks, requested my senator to make an inquiry, that got things moving again, and quick. Was your interviewer satisfied with your evidence? Some have received a RFE instead of their oath letter, that is disappointing, means another trip, and more waiting.

Did you pass the civic test? Did you write correctly what he dictates? (Verbal test) If yes, you should not worry about it.. If he asked you to sign the 2 pictures. I think you passed..

When I had my interview, I saw all that the officer check all the checklist... and put approved..

Stay positive..

yes I passed it all got 10 right including reading & writing but I have somethings that made my file a little .....in other words I have seen people with almost my case get approved or denied. I'm on a chance of IO what they decide. That is why i was asking about this..they took the complete test reading writing history then made me sign my two photos on the side. Made me write my name and sign it twice on some paper and then questioned me about the matter and then said you will get oath in one week, I was confused since she was completely rude about the issue then just said you will get oath. Therefor i asked her did i get it she said I will recommend a supervisor approval. I asked her again b/c I didnt want to be left confused as to what the heck happened. her answer was yes you got it. she did the entire interview complete one..do they put in effort then deny you? thank you everyone for answering me this really helps.

The officer who interviewed me was also rude and scary. He spoke too fast, never allow me to take chances to think of what will I answer but luckily, I have answered all correctly.. But before that, he asked me what is my occupation, where do I reside right now, how long I am planning to stay overseas.(I filed mine under 319b. fyi) His table is too close to me and I can see what he was checking that time.. After that interview, he asked me to sign my name at the back of 2 photos and he told me to come back in the afternoon for the oath at 2pm.. He then gave me the checklist.. and had his signature and comments as APPROVED.

I met one lady in the waiting area before my Interview, she is Iranian, she showed me the letter and document checklist.. It indicated there that she failed the writing test, and she have to retake in again..From what I understood, because she not speak english fluently, when the officer dictated what to write in a paper, she taught the officer wanted her to make her own sentence.. I believe she did not pass again as I did not see her in the oath ceremony.

Relax.. just stay positive.

And too, maybe the officer is new and wanted to verify some records that she might think confusing and wanted to check to her supervisor for approval.. Did she ask you personal information before taking civic test?

Even with the Congratulations boxed check with the IF, still was hell waiting, again, it's not until you have that certificate in your hand, you know that phase is over. Least I think it's over, can they come over and take it back? Excluding any crimes committed by you of course.

Yes you do not get citizenship until after the Oath and you have your certificate. An interview just recommends you for the oath which needs approval.

There have been people removed from the Oath ceremony before and denied citizenship at the very last second. Didn't happen in my Oath but a woman there was telling me about it at her sisters Oath that several people were removed.

They can revoke your Oath invite anytime if they feel neccessary...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...

she did not ask me anything personal. she was too busy with signing checking boxes or flipping papers she was fast rapid. it was all business. the back of my photos had writing on it so she told me to sign the side of the photos. like i said it seemed too professional seemed like she was just giving me an approval she said i will recommend you. thats a good thing right? I mean she could have just said NO and not wasted her time with all the papers or the signing photos?
