Do I need an original Police Certificate?

Hi All,

My wife sent in her orginal Police Certificate to NVC. For the interview they require her to bring a Police Certificate, my question is, is it okay for her to bring in a photocopy of the Police Certificate considering she has already sent her one and only original copy to NVC already? or does she still have to bring in an original copy of the police certificate. In the latter case we have to reappy for it again.

Thank you so much for the advice!!

Cheers!!

I am also confused about the Police Certificate! What is it? Does my wife in the Philippines just go to the police department and ask for certification that she has been a good girl? I am just trying to know what she needs to do so I can inform her to get this done as soon as possible. thanks in advance.

I understand that if she has lived outside the Philippines for more than 6 months, then she must get a police clearance from whatever country she came from. Otherwise, she just needs the NBI clearnce that says "no derogatory record". I played it safe, though, and got both. My police clearance, I got from Quezon city Hall, since I am from QC. Nothing wrong in playing safe, i would think. It wouldn't be nice to get an RFE just because of that. As for the NBI, she will be given two copies, one will remain with her as her personal copy, so that she would have an original of it too.
