Just wanted to ask how many of you opted for the extra thousand dollars for premium processing that is supposed to be complete in 15 days? I have been thinking about it but hesitate to pull the money out of the bank. Wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience before I speak to the wife about it.

Thanks All

I thought about paying for the premium processing myself, and as a matter of fact I just read about a guy who was processed within days after doing it. So my question is, do they skip steps to ensure the quicker processing...all of those so called security checks that they say they're doing? and if USCIS is capable of processing faster why are they putting us through this, and just offer faster service to everyone, is it about the money? did it ever occur to them that it would be good business practice? And as I recall, USCIS just raised the cost to process applications...K-1 processing for $455.00 etc., that in itself should qualify all of us for premium processing!

It is not an "option" per se. Expedited processing is only for people from certain places or in certain conditions which require they be processed quickly for their own safety, such as in a war zone, political persecution, etc. It is not an option for most K-1, K-3 visas. Basically, don't waste your money.

My bad :whistle: , I just researched that information, and I stand corrected. But I still believe that if the USCIS have the ability to process faster, and obviously they do, why not provide it to all. What! work visa applicants aren't as dangerous and a potential threat to our national security as our fiance's and spouses? :o

Your research yielded information about an I-129 petition not an I-129F. It's meaningless to you.

To understand why an I-129 is treated differently than an I-129F check the definition of "capitalism".

Hello All;

I agree that premium processing should be the word of the day and should equate to working the job they are given, and 15 days should be more than enough time to review a file and make a decision, but I can see than most of you have a date that you can say the file was "touched" by USCIS, and I understand this is a VJ term and not one used by USCIS but I sent my I-130 in July and my I129f in August but still the website tells me only what the first NOA told me. Where would the date show to indicate it has even begun the processing journey? From what I can tell, they have received it and done nothing.

Starting to worry

You are basically correct. They have received it and done nothing. It is sitting in a pile to be processed. A typical I-129F, when there are no problems, all documents are present, etc. takes about 15 minutes of actual "processing" to adjudicate. Ours took 61 days from NOA1 and that is pretty much "lightning fast" even by Vermont standards. Best thing you can do now is download the Package 3 and get all that ready, then make your interview as soon as the consulate has your case. Best case, you can get the visa in hand in maybe 4 months. Worst case? ?????????? But at this point "no news is good news".
