I've been reading your posts, and I've been wondering what is a "name check" and what a "walk in biometrics" is?

A "name check" is a background check that CIS does on all apllicants, aka "FBI name check" . Sometimes it takes longer for some people.

"Walk in biometrics" means that the applicant was so eager to complete biometrics that they went earlier than scheduled without an appt. They walked-in, like you would to a doctor. Some places allow it, others don't. It has not been shown to speed up the processm, so I don't see the benefit.

I also don't the see the benefit of the walk in biometrics... maybe for someone who knows he cannot make it on the interview date given. so he can go earlier, let them know and do it...

GOOD NEWS, I JUST CHECKED MY EAD ONLINE AND I'VE GOT A NEW CURRENT STATUS: "CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED", IT SAYS... ON OCTOBER 31, 2008, WE ORDERED PRODUCTION OF YOUR NEW CARD. PLEASE ALLOW 30 DAYS FOR YOUR CARD TO BE MAILED TO YOU....

BUT NOTHING ABOUT MY AOS, STILL THE SAME... I HOPE I CAN HAVE SOMETHING PRETTY SOON....

DO YOU THINK THAT THIS CAN HELP FOR MY AOS NOW THAT I'M GONNA HAVE MY EAD CARD???

Well it indeed looks like the name check was the reason. Now, it would be the perfect time to give USCIS a call about your AOS status. Afterall, you already got your interview.

HI EVERYBODY!!!

VERY GOOD NEWS, I'VE GOT MY EAD CARD, I CAME ON NOVEMBER 15, BUT I WAS ON A TRIP WHEN IT CAME, SO LAST MONDAY MY HUSBAND AND I WENT TO APPLY FOR MY SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. BUT THEY DID NOT FIND MY EAD ON THE SYSTEM, BUT THEY SAID SOME TIMES TAKE AWHILE. SO THEY SAID I'VE GOT TO WAIT SIX WEEKS TO GET IT ON THE MAIL.

BUT I DON'T HAVE ANY NEWS ABOUT MY AOS, SO WE ARE GOING TO CALL TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON...
