Hello

As we all know, it is taking VSC about 10 months to process I-751 application, in my case, I have a receipt date of 03/16/2008 and I can file for citizenship before the date of my first GC because I'm still married, So 12/13/2008 (yeah i filed for I 751 Late), so Basically I paid $500 to get a one year extension! How Awesome!!!

What I was wondering is, Are most of you waiting for your I-751 to get approved before filing for citizenship, I won't wait. I will send my N400 as soon as it's due this time.

Regards,

Regards,

You can but you do not need to wait, so don't if you so choose... You can submit up to 90 days prior to the date you are eligible for naturalization.

Well In the application, i think they ask you to write if you have any other applications pending with USCIS, so they will not process one until the other is done with,

I was thinking maybe it will push them to process it faster?

mbmw,

Actually I've read in another forum that filing for citizenship sometime can expedite the process of approving the I-751 application but I'm not sure.

That is typically what happens..... The N-400 will push the I-751 to conclusion.

I personally am planning to apply for citizenship no matter if my I751 is pending or approved once that 90day window opens for me... if pending hopefully it will push it.

they can't approve the citizenship until the i751 is approved, but citizenship can take a few months to a year also, so i want to get the ball rolling as soon as i can... just wanna be over w/ all these things as early as i can
