Vietnam: Yahoo Messenger records

6 posts in this topic

Recommended Posts

My wife and I use Yahoo! Messenger to talk (we don't do e-mails and we seldom type stuff).

Anyway, I contacted Yahoo! and they said there's no archiving for such things. I do have Yahoo! Voice, which does have records of me calling my wife, but not so many minutes. We usually switch to the free Messenger to talk.

I'm advised that my wife should find records on her end in Vietnam.

Does anybody know if Vietnam keeps records of such (the Internet company)? Yahoo! doesn't have it, but I'm wondering if the Vietnamese Internet company does.

Thanks for your input.

yahoo messenger saves messages, but you have to turn on the option under the tab "messenger", then "preferences", and then "archive". You might have it turned on since the call history is on (option to save or not save phone calls is in the same section).

continue to wowswift: then go to tab "contact", see "message achive" and "voice message & call history", you can pour out all records. However, records are only save at the computer which you access, not other, therefore, go to C: drive the search "Yahoo!" then you can see message file, save that for later use.

Hi All, I am newbie in here.

Does she chat from home or internet café?

If from home > go to C:\ProgramFiles\Yahoo!\Messenger\Profiles\USERNAME\Archive\Messages

If from Internet Café : tell her to ask the computer tech to print out her a hard copy every time she is chatting with you.

Vietnam ISP doesn’t have any records on their server.

I hope this answer your question.

Good Luck.

Justin

We've been using meebo.com for about 6 months. It saves the chats automatically and is a web based application, so you can give the messenger program the ole' heave ho from your computer and still use your Yahoo screen name as well as a few others. I started using it after my old computer crashed and I lost 2 months worth of chats. God Yahoo sucks.
