how did you all fill out the ds230? My wife has hand written the info and its pretty legible but not printed. Is NVC picky about this?

NVC does not really care whether it is computer entry or hand writting as long as it is clear and readable

So....I am just waiting for my IV Fee to be generated so that I can pay online. In the meantime, I have the entire packet together for the DS-230. My one questions is whether I need to have the police clearance certificate finished and sent in with the packet. I thought that you only had to bring that to the interview but now it seems that I have to mail it in with the DS-230 packet. We actually have one certificate but my hubby didn't realize that you need the fingerprinting too. So he had to go redo it. Do you think it would be okay just to send the certificate for now and the fingerprints later? Also, if I do need the fingerprinting for the DS-230 packet, can I just have him send them directly to the NVC to add to my file or should I wait for him to send them to me and then send them all at once? It takes usually 10 days quickest to get here from Australia. Yuck!

I am not sure. Does it depend on which country you are coming from?

This is from http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc..._3504.html#docs

If you reside outside Australia

Applicants who live overseas should refer requests to the Australian Federal Police. Applicants are required to apply for a police certificate based on a name and fingerprint check. Police clearances issued on the basis of only a name check will not be accepted. More information is available on their website at: http://www.afp.gov.au/ or via e-mail at vetting@afp.gov.au.

If you reside in Queensland

Check with your local police station if you need an appointment, then go in person to be fingerprinted. You must pay the prescribed fee of AUD146.70 (subject to change, please check the current fee with the police) and complete an indemnification form required by the Queensland Police Department. You must then forward the fingerprints, completed indemnification form, and payment to:

Inspector of Police, Information Bureau, Miscellaneous License Section, GPO Box 1440

Brisbane, QLD 4001. Telephone: (07) 3364-6854.

Please find further details on the Queensland Police website.

Ok cool!

I paid our IV bill today, hopefully it will show as paid by tomorrow. I'll have that 230 sent so it arrives Monday morning. We are all at about the same step it seems. This is great, compared to our long sad days at USCIS. I think once NVC completes my case I'm going to send them a thank you letter, I've kept notes of everyone I have talked to there at the NVC and almost everyone of them were very pleasant and actually knowledgable, unlike their USCIS counterparts.

Hi Paul's Mrs.

I have read in WIKI guide that we also need to submit 2 affidavits from third party who can attest that marriage is legit. Do we really need to send this along with the DS-230? Thanks!

I included the past three years tax transcripts, a recent pay stub showing the annual salary and ytd earnings for this year, the I-864 EZ itself. I know my income is definitely sufficient. so not sure what it could be.

Hi kman!

Is it okay if we submitted the DS-230 first or together with the I-864? We already paid the IV bill online and we're just waiting for the status to change to "PAID" before we send out he DS-230. My husband (petitioner) is still having difficulty fixing the I-864 documents and we already have everything for the DS-230. So will this be okay to send out the DS-230 first before the I-864? Thanks!

Do not worry. u r not alone. I am in same situation. Most likely, it is false RFE saying that they still need DS230 from us. This happened to many vj members so do not panic. It is normal.
