I have a stupid question (forgive me)...Does your I-130 have to be approved before you're approved for work permit? because of lack of knowledge on this process we filed my I-130 seperate from AOS...I130 was sent in Feb (receipt date of march 3) and AOS sent July (NOA date july 21)....I 130 was transferred to CSC on Aug 27 and I'm now awaiting that approval. But wanted to know if I have to wait on that approval b4 NBC/MSC would approve my EAD?

Oct. 8.........EAD Card production ordered

Oct. 16.......EAD Approval noticed mailed
Oct. 18........EAD in hand (came in mail)
Nov 3.........Interview Notice received in mail
Dec 4.........Interview APPROVED, CRIS email: card production ordered
Dec 9.........Welcome noticed received in mail Dec 9.........card production ordered
Dec 14.......Received greencard in mail

May 7...Application mailed out

I "think" that the answer is yes...that is - everything is contingent upon that petition. I have a feeling this is posted in the wrong forum? Maybe someone else can verify...Good luck though!

N-400 Journey

June 9th 2012 - Application sent

June 14th 2012 - NOA sent

June 28th - Biometrics letter sent -- July 26th Appointment date

July 12th 2012 - Early Biometrics/Walk-in

August ( ) - Interview letter received -- September 14th Interview date

September 14th 2012 - Interview! Oath date in hand, September 20th @ noon!

the answer is no... but if the I-130 is not approved then the EAD is canceled....

Thanks fwaguy...i guess my patience is starting to run thin LOL (although i'm sure there's many who've been waiting longer than me)...Just trying to get a feel as to when i should expect EAD...
