I got my EAD approval today! (Day 77)!!! it say's "Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you"... Does somebody know how long does it take between approval and receiving it on the mail... I know it says 30 days, but I would bet is less than that...

Congrats Carcar and to everyone else with approvals and to those of us still waiting, i hope they speed up.

Its reassuring to note that they are working on it and that soon enough we would all be attended to, and thanks Envy_me for the regular update as i follow those closely and see that early septemeber filers are already recieving and that most would go for interview later this month and next!

To those preparing for interviews, this is to wish you smooth interviews and immediate approvals.

I wish USCIS makes it easier for those of us who go through the process the honest route....

Too much waiting and hassles, but there is nothing one can really do except to check the uscis websites which isnt actually functioning obssessively!

Angela applied for SS card yesterday, the woman told her that if you wait 10 from the issue date then they could have given her the SS number immediately. But now we have to wait for verification.

im waiting for aomary to post how the infopass appointment went (we are sharing the same problem where we still dont have our biometrics letter). :D

Hi mellowgeorge, mamada,

I just came back from the local office. Unfortunately, I have to say it didn't work...

The officer wasn't nice at all. She took one look at the date on my NOA (it says October, you konw) and said "Why are you here? It's to early to come here. You must wait for 90 days. Come back on January." Then she wouldn't listen to me. I tried to ask her to at least tell me if they have sent a letter to me, but she didn't say anything but I was too early to come. I was so disappointed that she didn't give me the slightest infomation. That was a waste of time...

So I don't really recommend you the infopass appointment to ask about biometrics letter at this point, especially if you are far from your local office and it takes long time to drive there. I couldn't get anything more than the infomation that you got from Customer Service Center. I might have hit a particularly bad officer, I understand it totally depends on the person, but it is not worth the risk.

Now all I can do is to wait... I am so sorry to say this...

:crying: So sorry to hear that "aomary", but dont be troubled, things will be ok real soon. You just have to get to the right person. Thats what i have learned from my husband. I remember when we went to SSS to change my name on it from my maiden name to married name. 2times they rejected us becuase they said its not possible not until i have my greencard since i am out of status plus its week before i94 expires. But i remember correctly the guy who accept my application week after i arrived here in the US said that once we get married i could change it anytime. I was so disappointed but my husband said that we just have to get to the "right" person and sometimes it takes time to find the one that really wanna serve. Lo and behold the third time my husband called ssa first again and told our situation and she said come back to the office and look for me. And yes for just 10mins were done and week after i got the ssn under my married name.

Some people just find comfort in saying "No" , "We cant do that" becuase it makes their work easier. But there are still those few who are willing to serve and will always take extra effort to satisfy their customers. You just have to be patient to find them because they are very "RARE"!

Thank you j.kevs, I'm really touched by your story. That's right, it takes time to get to the right person, and I just didn't see him/her yesterday.

Now I feel better, because my husband said I did the best I could so far. And of course, I understand I'm not only one who's waiting good news.

Congrats to all whose EAD got approved. :star:

It seems early September filers are receiving their EAD.

That means... mid and late September filers' EADs are on the way. :thumbs:

Though the economy sucks right now, I bet we can all find a job with this

"patience" which we learned from dealing with USCIS. None of our future employer

will be harder to deal with than USCIS. Hehehe. :devil:

Anyway, my husband and I will go to San Francisco Bay Area to celebrate Thanksgiving.

My husband is from there and I graduated from a university there. So, we have lots of family members and

friends there. We are really excited to see them.

What is your Thanksgiving plan?

If you are driving or flying, please have a safe trip.

And, let's forget about USCIS for a little while. :star:

My EAD has not been approved yet.

But, from looking at immigration timelines of fellow VJers, it seems to take anywhere from a week to two weeks.

It is on its way to you. :star:

My husband got his about a week after approval. Of course CRIS hadn't updated for us and we didn't get an approval notice, so we didn't know it was coming! Just the card arrived.

September 2, 2008 - Mailed AOS and EAD

September 4, 2008 - AOS delivered... waiting.

September 4, 2008 - AOS NOA date!

September 15, 2008 - received Biometrics appointment

September 30, 2008 - Biometrics appointment!

November 3, 2008 - Received EAD!
