Ok. I just called USCIS because today is my day 90.

Last time I called I had a charming man on the phone, but this time I had a girl who was speaking sooooo fast, I couldn't understand a word ( plus my cell connexion sucked). And whenever I asked her to repeat, she would just repeat the same sentence even faster...So I guess she put a service request, i also heard the word interim EAD, and she gave me a confirmation number. For those who already been through this. What is this number for?

I also heard 45days. Am I suppose to do something in 45days if I don't hear from them? Are they going to give me an interim EAD? why not the normal one? :unsure:

Getting someone else on the phone wouldn't change anything. She did the standard procedure of putting in a service request and yes, you can call them if you don't hear anything from then in 45days. I know i know, it's bullshit after waiting 90 days you have to wait another 45 days. So all you can do is wait or go to an info pass appointment as some people have done with success on here and also email Ombudsman which I have done and still no updates. Tomorrow will be one week after contacting ombudsman and they say if we don't here anything within a week to contact their office so I am just going crazy waiting. We really need me to work because it is really tough with one income. Hope this helps

Sorry to hear that lucie&damon, if it makes you feel any better my 'New Zealand English' and their 'American English' can't even get along at times, my accent gets them annoyed with me all the time! :blush: But don't worry, the number is just for your reference, it's the proof that they put the request in. I'm sure you will hear something long before 45 days are up but if it feels like too long (maybe a week at most :devil:) get that info pass appointment or email the Ombudsman as Time suggests.

And I have a little question. I'm not sure what those of you who have had interview appointments have received, is it just something in the post or did you get an email along with it? Sorry if this has already been answered, I couldn't remember and as we're going back to NZ soon, I just want to make sure that if something comes I wont miss out on it (hopeful thinking maybe :whistle: ). Hi folks,

So I'm doing my biometrics tomorrow morning (finally) but the appointment letter that I received is only for the I-485. Can I do the biometrics for the EAD as well on the same appointment?

In our group I know of one person (aomary) who got the EAD without the biometrics so I guess it's not required?

Also, I was able to get an infopass appointment tomorrow morning as well to bring up the issue of my EAD as it's been 90 days since I applied. Wish me luck.

Our EAD has *finally* been approved!!!!

I had two e-mails when I got to work today - apparently the card was ordered on both the 3rd and the 7th :)

But who cares!! We're finally getting it!!!!

Has any of you guys that has received RFE contacted USCIS and do they specify the reason over the phone or do you just have to wait till you get the RFE in the mail.

Hi time, I'm sorry this really sucks big time. I recall someone (beautifulyears?) having a RFE and trying to get info over the phone but didn't have any luck, they just had to wait for the letter. I would say too that they have lost your papers. Perhaps you could call and ask what the situation is with your interview if they need more info, can you provide the info at the interview for example? May be you'll be lucky and they'll do the interview and push it all through anyway. I hope so at least.

I'm really mad today too. I went to my infopass appointment today and it's seems that it was a waste of time because everything was in the system as it should be, so I went back to the DMV to get my license and they still couldn't do it and now I have to wait another 30 days before I can go back. So now I'm dealing with 2 LAME organizations!

I did ask about the wait time for the AOS though and she said it's usually around 6 months (from your receipt date), could be a little shorter, could be a little longer depending on your case but about 6 months. She also said that some get moved to California to complete processing and to speed it up. Hope that's useful info for someone.

We received an RFE for both I-485 and EAD. When I tried to call the number they only informed me of the same information I see on my case online. You can try to call but I bet they will also told you that they need additional documents stated on the letter sent.

But there is no harm in trying.

Thanks for replying gladys. I know there is no point to call them and I just have to wait for the mail to arrive. But what is strange to me is how come they sent me an interview letter date and after a month sending me the RFE.

I got RFE for all three I-485, I-131 and I-765 so I am thinking its probably one item that is the same on all forms and needs to be corrected. Just a guess.

Gladys when you got your RFE on the two forms, where they related or was it two completely different items they requested?

12/02/2008 - EAD Case Status touch, CRIS e-mail: "Card Production Ordered on December 2"

12/08/2008 - EAD Case Status touch, CRIS e-mail: "Card Production Ordered on December 5"

12/09/2008 - EAD Case Status touch, CRIS e-mail: "Approval Notice Sent: On December 9th, we mailed you a notice that we have approved I-765"

So i checked our mailbox and there i saw a mail from USCIS was so excited i thought it was my biometrics letter but still not! It is just a response regarding my service request i made last dec 12 and i still no good news.. Last monday i emailed the Ombudsman regarding my case and they emailed me back that they will check it and i should get a response from USCIS shortly which i they never did and they said to email them again if i don't get a response after 1 week. I also sched an infopass for Jan 12 so i really hope this time i can hear a good explanation or response why until now they dont send my BIO!!! Why instead of sending a letter to me, they should have just print out the sched and mailed it!! I cant understand their system!!! :angry::angry:

09/30/08 - mailed AOS, AP and EAD thru USPS

10/02/08 - received and signed by V. Bustamante

10/06/08 - check cashed out

10/07/08 - date of NOA

10/08/08 - last touch for AP and EAD

10/28/08 - AOS transferred to CSC

11/04/08 - touched on AOS

11/05/08 - touched again on AOS

11/06/08 - touched again on AOS ( no touch on AP and EAD)

12/08/08 - EAD approved according to USCIS officer (from infopass)

12/09/08 - touched on AP and EAD

12/10/08 - AP approved dated 12/09

12/15/08 - AP on mail

01/12/09 - went to infopass - found out my EAD has been approved since DEC 8,2008

01/21/09 - biometrics appoinment

01/21/09- Card production ordered for I-765 and a touched for I-485

01/22/09 - touched on I-485

01/23/09 - touched again on i-485

01/26/09- touched again on I-485 and i-765! WOW!

01/29/09 - i-765 approval notice sent.. and EAD card received in mail

02/24/09 - AOS APPROVED!! thanks God!

02/25/09 - AOS touched again

02/27/09 - GC and welcome letter received in the mail
