And I have a little question. I'm not sure what those of you who have had interview appointments have received, is it just something in the post or did you get an email along with it? Sorry if this has already been answered, I couldn't remember and as we're going back to NZ soon, I just want to make sure that if something comes I wont miss out on it (hopeful thinking maybe ). Thanks guys.

I only got the letter in the mail. No email, no update on USCIS website. There was almost two weeks between the date on the letter and the date I actually received it.

I believe they will only do biometrics for what's listed in the appointment letter, so only for I-485 for your case. For our's, there were two case's listed (AOS & EAD) in the bio appointment letter

So I'm doing my biometrics tomorrow morning (finally) but the appointment letter that I received is only for the I-485. Can I do the biometrics for the EAD as well on the same appointment?

I was scheduled for the interview on February 10. Hopefully everything goes well. On the uscis website my case still shows up at NBC so the site does not always update it seams.

Getting someone else on the phone wouldn't change anything. She did the standard procedure of putting in a service request and yes, you can call them if you don't hear anything from then in 45days. I know i know, it's bullshit after waiting 90 days you have to wait another 45 days. So all you can do is wait or go to an info pass appointment as some people have done with success on here and also email Ombudsman which I have done and still no updates. Tomorrow will be one week after contacting ombudsman and they say if we don't here anything within a week to contact their office so I am just going crazy waiting. We really need me to work because it is really tough with one income. Hope this helps

Sorry, I didn't express my questions very well. What I don't understand is what she did. Is a service request is a request to have an interim EAD or to boost the normal EAD?

She said something about infopass, that I could have one but they don't give EAD. What is an infopass for? What are they going to do if I go to my local office?

I'm sorry that you didn't hear anything from the ombudsman yet! Why is everyone so slow?! ...probably the holidays, huh?!

Hi agian,

I was told that it did both. It put in a request to speed things up but at the same time sent a request for interim. I don't know what other people have experienced but I got my EAD about 2 or 3 weeks after they made that request (I did contact the Ombdman too in that time though). I hope this happens for you too, even sooner!

Tomorrow will be exactly one week after contacting Ombudsman so I hope I hear something tomorrow or I am going to email them tomorrow again. By the way, did you put in a service request after 90 days and how long after contacting ombudsman did you get an email from USCIS. I put in a service request for interim EAD on Dec. 17 and on Dec. 29 I emailed Ombudsman so I hope I hear something tomorrow. I am praying like crazy.

Good luck mellowgeorge, i thought i will get my sched too this early january coz i know 4 of us whose packet received OCT 2 and bio is way too late and when the 3 of you got that sched each i was thinking i will be next but until now i dont receive any... i called USCIS dec 27 but the guy said after i got my service request number i should wait 45 days which will be on the 27th of Jan. Then today i made an infopass for Jan 12 and i emailed the Ombudsman too, so i pray a miracle on my case..

So, my husband called again today USCIS since I didn't understand what was going on yesterday on the phone. This time the lady was very nice and even asked about the weather, life in Colorado etc. crazy huh from a USCIS rep?!

She told me that yesterday the lady put a service request saying that my case is outside the current processing time, and that this can take 45 days. But today this other lady gave an other confirmation number for another request saying that I never received my ead card in the mail. Which apparently is different and that I should get it within 3 weeks....

I hope all these requests will boost the process now!

Im going to pray for you two. It worked when AHZ did not get their EAD, then I said a very sincere prayer ( along with, " 0k God, don't let me look bad now " ) , and in a few days AHZ got their EAD so it just has to work for you, too.

So I went to my biometrics appointment for the I-485 where they pressed and pulled and lotioned and wiped and scraped my fingers just to get all then fingerprints. I didn't bring up the issue about the EAD biometrics because I overheard another person say the same and they said they could only do what's on the appointment notice. The whole thing took about 45 minutes.

Next, I went to my infopass appointment where I brought up the issue of the delay in my EAD application. The officer looked at my application and he said that the EAD was ready for production since Dec 6 2008! What!? He told me that they were just waiting for the biometrics to come in. I told him that I just did my biometrics for the I-485 that same morning. So he double-checked my mailing address and it looks like the biometrics appointment letter for the EAD was never generated. So he called the people in the biometrics office (it's all in the same building) and asked if maybe they can just link my EAD application to the biometrics I did earlier. No luck.

So he wrote me a walk-in form, I went back upstairs and it's a good thing that the EAD only required 1 index finger print and a photo. Whew, it was now 1115 AM.

Took the bus back to work and I checked my email. Wow! There's an email from CRIS time-stamped at 1145AM saying that my EAD card production has been ordered.

I guess they can be fast at times.

So I now feel so much better that my EAD is definitely on its way as my current F-1 OPT will end this March. I could've extended that OPT for another 17 months but that means paying another $375.
