Ok so today I finally got my precious RFE letter! It says that the record they have for my file is my maiden name and since I used my married name that makes RFE. So I was thinking I need to resubmit my birth certificate and marriage certificate?Am I right? (Though I have included both of them in my package last time. ) :crying:

I'm just thinking do I need to submit another Form I-765? Or just the marriage certificate and birth certificate? Thanks!

Hello Vida,

Sorry about the rfe.

In my case i filled the form in my maiden name as that was what was in my passport and it was what we originally filled with, and when i went for biometrics i asked the guys there if i could change my name but they said its possible if only i had brought my marriage certificates along.

I dont know really but i think you should fill out another form, in your maiden name incase they want it to be in your maiden name but also include your marriage certificates and brith certificate inside the package, that way if what they want is evidence of your marriage or married name they ll get it there, if what they want is your maiden name then they will have the new form you filled out too.

damn, that stinks...

maybe best to call and find out exactly what they want you to do... b/c if you don't send them exactly what they want, they will just issue another rfe. (what is obvious to us... and most normal people... is oftentimes confusing to USCIS! ) definitely include copies of everything you already sent.

good luck!!

just a QUESTION!

Can we use our EAD Card as ID to open account under the married name? Will the bank accept it?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I think so!

Thank you so much lucie&damon, i really appreciate it.

God bless everyone!

USCIS give me my EAD already.:innocent::dance:

That sucks. it's so weird! I also think that you should call them.

I think most of the people files with they married name and send the marriage certificate to prove, and that's enough..

Did you change your name with SSA or not yet? maybe changing the name with them helps too! So you're officially Mrs "Married name".

According to the VJ chart about EAD, it looks like USCIS forgot the 27 Sept filers left! They are now processing the Oct filers!!!

Hé ho! Can you work fairly and in order please!

Yeah I called them to be sure. They want me to submit only whatever it is they are asking. SO I told the lady I talked to that if ever I got another RFE I will blame it to you, hahahaha! She laughed! I told her that I have those papers sent along with the whole package, NOW why are they asking it again and sent this RFE very late? She said sometimes papers get lost especially if they are transferred to another center.

She said after I send the answer to call back again. Anyway, I will still submit another form and 3 photo copies each of my BC and MC. Hope to get approval soon!

Well, glad to hear they had some info for you, and that you can get it sorted out... :star:

Do u think our papers got buried under somebody's USPS truck when they transfered our case to Cali?

We've had no touches since biometrics (and that was like a hundred years ago)...

What if it's lost and they are like: oh we'll do a service request... please wait an additional 45 days until we can tell you that we lost your documents and you have to re-apply........ i will lose my mind.

I hear you all! I felt so bad after knowing about my RFE after 67 days. Whats more worst is I've already submitted all those papers.

Now I hoped my papers was not transferred because by this time I could have receive my interview schedule and at the same time my EAD would have been approved. No touched with my I-485 because apparently it is also suspended after sending me RFE. grrrr....

I've asked about why there are applicants who filed later than I am and got approvals already and just said like.. Mam applications varies! It's not a first come first serve basis. I said FINE!
