Oh, you guys, are going to love this one: got a letter yesterday from congressmen's office, when I contacted him 2 weeks ago, when VT was slow and CA was booming. guess what it said? Due to large amount of various applications, Vermont is taking them in the matter of the importance. Unfortunately, we can't expedite your case. Like I didn't know that....

Hang in there and dont pay attention to the estimate! We were estimated to receive our noa2 March 4th and we are a whole month ahead. At least you know that they are dealing with your case now and once you send them the info back you should be approved straight away. Im sure you will be able to get married in April!

What worries me is when I look at the Igor's list and see all those people who returned their RFE's months ago and are still not approved. And there is always a chance of getting stuck in AP @ NVC (average 6-7 weeks wait!). Well, let's hope it doesn't come to that!

I know. But it's scary to see people waiting fro 7+ months too. ouch!

Im glad to see a couple of filers who had been waiting for + 6 months get approved yesterday. Hope you guys are working extra hard today. Happy Hump Day! Now get back to work and approve more ppl pls.

In the matter of importance?? What does that mean?? They have someone deciding whose case is more 'important' than the next?? God I hope not, i'm sure everyone feels their own case is very important!!

I don't know how they decide if this case or that one is more important.. we have a child and he has an Americian citizhenship.. but still waiting for approval more than 4 months..

Guys, I think what they meant is that K1 visas are not as important as some of the other immigration visas.

Of course it is. Bringin few H1B visas into the country by far is much more "important."

I wish I was psychic, i'm sure if I knew how long it would be I wouldn't mind the wait...but I have started driving myself insane checking my email, ucsis and here every 5 minutes.......oh how I long for a 'touch' or anything, just show me some PROGRESS

but I don't think that couple people reviews such huge numbers of cases.. getting thousands cases a day..

I know they get many more petitions than is reflected on VJ. I wonder how many staff they employ at Vermont to do the approvals.....I imagined there would be dozens and dozens?

I think stuff is divided on some groups of people who review and have responsibility for every type of visa.. otherwise they would go insane having a deal with such huge wave of cases every day.
