Timeline

I married my wife in the United States in September 2007......at the time she was here on a J1 visa..she could have stayed in the US at that time but she decided to go home and take care of everything she had to do to prepare to move to the US and to visit her family......we thought the process would take about 90 days at that point not aware of all the paperwork delays at USCIS....I contacted Senators and Representatives and they could not help me...she is not subject to the 2 year wait. I origionally sent my I-130 to Vermont on 10/20/2007 and it was transfered to California and approved on July 15th.......and was being sent to the NVC.......how much more time should it take before my wife is here from Poland? I recently ruptured my achellees tendon and could really use her here but I know thats wishful thinking......I will fill out my timelines as soon as I can make it to the safe and get the forms and dates from the paperword and receipts I received from USCIS.

Hope to talk to you soon

it really depends on how proactive you are in submitting things to NVC and then how far away your consulate schedules the interview.

I got my I-130 approval a week ago, given what Ive hread about London cases I hope to be in the US by February 2009 (i.e. approx another 6 months)

The NVC seems to process cases in several weeks. Our case was at the NVC for a little more than 2 weeks and we were approved. My suggestion to you is call them and talk to a representative. The couple of times I called I was very pleasantly surprised at how helpful the reps were. GOOD LUCK!

My February 2008 estimate is a conservative one. I believe the NVC process for CR1 is more time-consuming than for K3 visas such as yours. Ive heard sometimes CR1 cases fly though NVC in 6 weeks sometimes they take 3+ months. I am working as my own agent so need to factor in time for international postage.

Then there is the wait for the embassy. For example, in my case, Ive read London is scheduling interviews up to 2 months after cases have completed at NVC so there is another wait there.

I would say a conservative estimate is 6 months, an optimistic one 3 months.

One other question, how far along are you with the NVC processing? If you were approved July 15th you should have already been or very close to having your case complete there...also, just out of curiousity, when was your case transfered from VSC to CSC ?

I would definately call NVC in the morning to find out the status of your case and if or when they recieved it, the number is 603-334-0700...select the option to speak with a live representative...you will need your receipt # from your approval notice (EAC-??-???-?????) as well as your and your wifes full names and birthdates for them to give you info on your case...be sure to get your NVC # from the representative as well...good luck

If the OP has his USCIS number, he can call the automated system TONIGHT.

The automated system is available 24 hours, and the case should be in the system by now.

Would also be a good idea to review the info in the link here

That IS crazy.

Get your NOA2 ready to fax or mail to NVC so they can locate your case. I think they say allow 4 to 6 weeks. Sounds like you're beyond that.

When you speak to NVC tomorrow, you may need to speak with a supervisor to get any action going.

Good luck.
