RFE trick not work anymore?

Hi all -

For some reason my AOS app was rejected due to the wrong check amount but they were wrong - apparently no one paid attention to the fact that when you submit the three forms together you only have to pay for the I485. This is the second time this has happened!

Anyway, I can not get through to a real person no matter what with the USCIS! I am dialing 800-375-5283 and at no point do I get to an option that involves an RFE, or a forgotten or lost receipt number. I am going crazy!

Please help!

Hi Liz, sorry to hear you have problems again. Call USCIS and when you get to main menu, press #2, then #3 (like you don't know your receipt number). You will get live person. Hope this helps. Good luck!

21 July 2008 - Delivered at 8.38am, signed by R. Mercedo

24 July 2008 - Checks cashed, NOA sent for I-485, I-130, I-765 and I-131

29 July 2008 - Case viewable online

04 Aug 2008 - NOA for Biometrics (sent July 30)

The RFE line has been removed from the options... your best bet would be to make an infopass at your local office and get their help in sorting out this issue.

I called today using this system. It works.

I did not say it did not work I said the RFE option has been removed from the options. As for what the mis-info line can do in this case I dont know, as none of them are immigration officers, it would make much more sense to go and talk to a immigration officer in your local office who can pick up the phone and talk to whoever is ment to be dealing with initial checks on applications at the lockbox.

I scheduled an infopass appointment - this is far too frustrating to deal with over the phone! Thank you for your help!

What a damn shame that people have abused something put in place to help legitimate queries to the point it was taken away.
