No I don't know that lol. I was occupied about the no criminal record on file, so thought the topic I commented was related to that one. Thank you :)

Just make sure you bring a recent NBI with your aka's and you will be fine.

Aka?  I do have  my recent nbi but no aka, do you think this will cause me a problem? My interview will be next week

It might cause a problem if you have gone by any other names in the past. But the only way you can tell is if you go to the interview and they ask for it. If they ask for it and you don't have it then they will just hold off on officially granting you the visa until they get it. The won't deny you but just ask for you to get it and send it in before they can official approve you.

Is this no criminal record on file is still a Big issue at the USEm?

Here is what the embassy stated in their instructions letter:

An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record” or "No pending case”.

POLICE REPORT (NBI Clearance). Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance (for travel abroad purposes) from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name and any aliases or nicknames used, including different spellings you have used of those names. An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record” or "No pending case”. For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is valid for one (1) year after its issuance date. NBI’s website is http://www.nbi.gov.ph.

  • 2 weeks later...

Here I am again,  got  221g  bcoz  of my nbi ( no criminal record  ) the consul gave me a pamphlet about domestic violence  when I get to the US but he said he can't complete the process of Visa because  they need  a letter from the NBI. And the guy from the realising area told me wait for 3 weeks then they will  gonna  email me if do  I need to go to the nbi  for interview or not.  I submitted all the documents  at the nbi already  when the time that I got my nbi clearance,  do you think I still need to go to the nbi even though I submitted  all the documents  already?  Is there someone  here  have same case as mine?

Sorry to ask you a personal question if you reported domestic violence in the past?? That is new to me. All I know about aka the most common mistake with NBI..
