I have not seen any instructions that indicate that I need a apostilles for Natasha's birth certificate and some other documents. Has anyone been through this who can tell me if the embassy asked for apostille documents?

I know you are filling K1, but for our I-130 application USCIS never asked for Apostille...just a translation. They don't seem to be very picky about that.

The Mexican govt. on the other hand, did require my US birth certificate to have apostille when we were married. :bonk:

You can email the embassy with your question. I was required to have an apostille attached to my birth certificate when I married in Romania; but that was a requirement of the Romanian government, not the U.S Embassy in Romania.

Best of luck to you both.

Hi! I am the USC and I have had the same experience as the previous 2 posters. I have never heard of the US government requiring an apostille in the visa process. I am living down here in El Salvador with my fiance, and the SALVADORAN govt required me to have an apostille attached to my birth certificate for my visa to work down here.

US embassies for the most part do not care for apostilles so don't bother. You also don't need anything apostilled for any paperwork here in the States.
