interviews and job offers b4 EAD

I have been getting calls like crazy the last 2 weeks...I posted my resume on monster.com and never really thought about it further, apparently companies do surf it to recruit...anyways, I went for an intervew today, they want me....my EAD *should* be in on May 27th....thats the 90 days. I know it says if I dont recieve it by then that I can call, but can I call before that just so I can find ot where I stand so I can give some of these companies a heads up? I have my choice of a few positions at the moment, but some of them need to be filled before others, I would hate to be stringing someone along....

what do u think? SHould I call....who should I call?????

no point in calling anyone... you have to wait until day 91 then you can go for a infopass appointment at your local office and request a interim EAD....

You can make the infopass appointment up to 2 weeks inadvance go to the USCIS website to make it....

There is no additional charge for an interim EAD.

Evil, I had a company that wanted to hire me 2 months before I arrived. I am in a specialized field and I told them the situation, that I would have to wait for work authorization, and that atfer 90 days I would be eligible for interim authorization.

They are waiting for me. I say be upfront and if they are really interested they will at least wait a few weeks.

I was lucky to get an interim EAD before applying for AOS, however the recruiting process took a while for me (mostly delayed because I did not want to start working before the wedding ceremony). The point of the story is, that I too posted in monster.com and that also I got a bunch of calls, my EAD however was to expire before I could even start working.

Be upfront with them, if they want you, they will wait, on the other hand, you can go to your District Office a few days (I'd say no more than a week) and if you are nice and explain your situation, they might give you the interim EAD which should be valid for 8 months. This card puts your foot in the door, but you have to be very cautious and keep on monitoring your definite EAD card, so you are not obliged to stop working if the cards dont overlap.

Just tell them right off the back and give them a real timeline. Infopass as required. Good Luck

i think on monster, there is a part on your profile where you can say when you are ready to commence work. choose a date that is maybe 2 weeks after the expected date of your EAD approval. that way, people who contact you know right away when you will be available. so they will be aware that they will have to wait if they really want you.

for the people who have already contacted you, just let them know that you will not be available to work until xx days. i don't think you really need to go into the whole USCIS & EAD thing just then (if you don't want to).

if your EAD is a bit late, and you wanna stall a bit, tell them you are considering other offers and will get back to them in a timely manner.
