. . . but I was studying the form my fiance will have to fill out to apply for his visa once our package reaches the embassy, and I notice it says "Proof of Engagement". I'm assuming right now that it simply means "proof of ongoing relationship", but I just want to make sure they're not expecting to actually see a ring yet (we're just a bit on the broke side from this whole procedure).

Also, as far as proof of our ongoing relationship, when I mentioned that we're broke from all this, I do mean broke. We haven't seen each other since our last visit in September of 2007. We talk every night, but over IM and Skype (no way we'd be able to afford actual phone bills). That considered, will they accept chatlogs of random conversations since we filed our I-129F? That's about the only "new" thing we have to prove our ongoing relationship. Maybe a few screenshots of Livejournal posts I've done where I've talked about him and our plans. But the only pictures or physical proof we ever had was his plane tickets and the millions of photos I took during his 2007 visit.

I dont think London expect everyone to have a ring, especially going threw a process that is so damn expensive, you should be perfectly okay with that.

I havent seen my Fiance since January 08, so we are also using chatlogs from MSN, phone bills and screenshots of our webcams, those are absolutely fine, also if you have emails etc;, we are using those also.

I was not asked for any proof of ongoing relationship/engagement at my interview. London does not usually ask for this.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

When i had my interview at london - took loads of stuff with me and was just asked a few general questions on how we met what he does - a very general conversation really. I wasnt asked to provide anything else relating to our on going relationship.

My husband wasn't asked for any proof of ongoing relationship. and we also only talked through aim and skype. all I did was screen shot the chat/call log on skype. it wasn't ever needed but it made me feel a bit better.

Don't worry too much. London's interview is quite easy.

Would that mean I dont need to make photocopies of all my documents? there is so much stuff, even flights have like 20 + pages and it would take a long time and a lot of ink to make copies of everything, originals should be fine right?

Was at London Embassy on July 29. No proofs of a relationship were requested. Focus on having your other documents they will request like the appointment letter, beneficiary's birth certificate and passport; the I-134 and two proofs like 2007 tax return with W2s (or an IRS transcript), letter of employment, or pay stubs; the police certificate; two US size passport photos.

Print off the DS forms and make sure you have all the information before filling in online and printing. Like all visits to the US and for how many days. He might need to make a list if it's many.

Get the medical done beforehand if travel to London twice is feasible. You only need to know the LNDxxxxxx number to schedule it. Before going to that, get immunization records from NHS and show them the list of immunizations to see if there are any lacking. Some NHS docs will give them free.

There's lots to do now, but proving an engagement is definitely not one of them.

Usually 'proof of engagement' refers to the letters of intent to marry. I took an updated one from Alex with me to the interview and that was taken (they didn't ask for it, but I had forgotten I'd slipped it into the affidavit of support and the lady found it when I handed that over) and attached to my file.

Print off a few pages of the logs...maybe ones that discuss a wedding in particular. But London hasn't been too keen on proof of ongoing relationships...it seems to be more of a matter of finances there.

SG--you've got to do some reading. Catch up luv!! Everything you need to know is written up. Look up at the top of this page. Narrow blue menu bar. Embassy Info Click that and find the UK. Read about the Embassy and P3/P4.. Then click for reviews of interviews. People tell you exactly what goes on. In the sticky at the top of this UK forum is a million reviews to tell you all about the medical. The older ones are about a different location, so read the more recent. Download the DS forms, print them and study them so you know what's asked for. Read the info from the US Embassy London's own website. Take notes on good information. This is important stuff.
