First, I would like to say congrats to those people starting off this week with approvals. I think VSC is starting to get back into action after a long break.

I have question: I, like many others on this site, got an approval for both my I-129F and I-130 at the same time. My approval date for both was Aug 3, 2008. Today I just got a letter from the NVC stating that my I-129F papers were being forwarded to Tokyo. I am very grateful for this, but I was really hoping to have the I-130 approved and save on the expense of doing an AOS. My wife and I just had a baby on July 5th, so she is not exactly fit for travel at the moment. I know I am going to kick my own ### for saying this, but I do not mind waiting a bit longer to get the I-130 approved.

Any advice on what to do? Should I just keep an eye on the mail for the next week or two and wait to see if the I-130 notice also comes? I do have the right to surpass the K3 and wait for the I-130 to make it to the embassy, correct?

Thanks!

Sure, proactively check with NVC on the status of your I-130 and follow the latest procedures to push it through NVC. See the IR1/CR1 forum for details.

Next time you want an immigrant visa, don't file an I-129F for spouse.

I'm sure the OP researched it and saw all the information saying the k3 is much faster, like the majority of us. And in many cases it is.

007,

Congrats on your approvals and I hope you get word on the 130 soon. :)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Hi, Within a week of my notification that my I-129F was on its way to the embassy, I received my I-130 notification and AOS bill from the NVC. Tracy

Yes, both service centers seem to be forwarding both petitoins to NVC instead of holding the I-130 like they did previously.

Um, not to be rude, but there isn't going to be a "next time."

Thank you for your help, I will be sure to visit the forum for more information.
