USCIS Changes Vaccination Requirements

The requirements for these new vaccines went into effect on July 1, 2008, however CDC approved a 30-day grace period for any medical exam conducted before August 1, 2008. At that time the new vaccinations, if appropriate, must be administered in order for USCIS to approve the applicant for adjustment of status.

I had my medical exam last April but I am still ABOUT TO FILE for AOS which would be within this month or the next. So, my question is, do I need to get these NEW VACCINES as required?

It is usually based on the filing date of the application. All applications submitted on or after would be affected.

YMMV

I am sorry, but you got me confused there. We are not required with the new vaccines but we need to comply it?

Does that mean that we can apply for AOS without having that new vaccine requirement or it's the other way around?

Thanks again! ;)

Hi the pricing varies with each civil surgeon. THe MMR and TDap I have that for FREE at public health clinic I just gave the vaccination record to the civil surgeon and it saved us like $120 for those two vaccines. But the HPV (Gardisil) they dont give it for free at the public clinic unless you're 18 years old below , so the civil surgeon was the one who gave me the HPV shot and charged me for $170 its usually 160 to 170 and I have varicella titer done for $20 and $20 for him to fill out the I-693 form. My advise is call as many civil surgeon as you can and look for a bargain price and like mine he told me to get the shots at public health clinic (for free) and just go back to him for the ones that i lack and he signed the form and its done.

Thanks to anyone who replied to this post but I got a CLEAR answer to my question and I hope would answer anyone's question regarding this.

I had further reading on FAQ's about this and called USCIS customer service, since I had my medical exam before July 1, 2008, I don't need to submit the new I-693, get the new TB Test and the new vaccine requirements.

From what I understand any medicals/vaccines that were done before 08/01/08 (including overseas) are ok.
