Every time I go to see a new saw movie, I'm usually wondering what the heck I was thinking in the first 10-15 minutes of extra disturbing gore that has very little to do with the plot of the movie (it's pretty much just people being killed horrifically)... and then by the end of the movie of course, I'm digging it, even if I saw the big plot twist coming, those movies really do tend to be well done.

Movies... I am stuck playing mommy to my daughter in a bit. We're going to watch High School Musical 3. Oh well, the popcorn may be worth it.

Thing is, the opening sequences to the movies are the most disturbing as they serve as hooks for the gore fans... I don't watch the movies for the gory scenes, so I hate when people say (not you obviously) that whoever watches these movies are sick. I watch it for the appreciation of the story, the morale behind it, the twist, the character of John which is amazing.. I go away feeling scared and appreciative of my life, which is the point. Not to see how many different ways a person can be tortured. Those are just there for the other kinds of horror fans.
