Sonoran I noticed in your time line you got a new I-94? How did you get that??

When we went through US customs using my husband's AP, they took the old expired I-94 out and put in a new one. The whole process of using the AP for the first time was a lot like activating the K1 visa. We went into secondary, and they took the old I-94 and gave him a new one valid for one year. They also took both copies of his AP. One they kept (presumably stamped and sent it off somewhere) and the other they stamped with something showing he was "paroled into the US" until December 29, 2009 (which was one year). Not very helpful if you are not planning to travel anywhere.

Thanks! I did not know they take both copies of the AP.

I think the way I said that might have been misleading. They took both copies (and my husband's passport) while we waited in secondary, but they give him one copy back (with the stamp saying he was paroled into the US for one year). They only keep one of them. I'm sorry if that was confusing. The pipes froze here this morning and I couldn't make coffee! That's my excuse for being absent minded, and I'm sticking to it.

We went to infopass today to see why its not showing anything for our AOS on the website. The immigration officer there said he didn't know why, he checked my status and its still there with no transfer or interview date yet. He said it was last updated 12/30 and it looks like its going to happen soon. I asked him how I can check the status and he gave me this tip...

He said to call USCIS at 1-800-375-5283 and get a hold of a live person. He then told me to tell them to make an "SRMT Inquiry" and he said they have to type in the question you have and then USCIS will get back to you either in email or letter. He told me there was a certain amount of days they had to respond to it. Sounds like a good alternative for people who want to ask something about their application but are tired of the people who answer the phones.

Argh. I feel like I'm going crazy waiting around to see what happens. Since they "touched" us on Monday, would it have been THAT hard to slam down the "APPROVED" stamp on our files while they were at it? :clock:

My sentiments exactly! I keep trying to remind myself that they do not always update the system but I'm now starting to wonder if all the touches were just someone rearranging the shelves. Maybe just dusting our files. Come on, give us all our approvals already!

That's what I'm starting to wonder as well... I find it a little odd that so many of us got touches on the 12th and then... Nothing. Seriously, if you're gonna bother to look at it once and update the system, why not just approve a bunch of people while you're there? I swear, they must get their jollies making us wait and squirm.

Okay, does anyone know, roughly, how long the wait from filing to approval/interview is? Especially for the CSC? The timeline on the USCIS website is useless.

Its -9F here in Lowell, MA right now.

Charry just told me and I was like um.. damn..

I have not been around in quite a while..

So, I guess from all the posts I read that we were not the only one to get touched on the 12th. Good to hear some others got some loving.

Wednesday was the first time I looked since Christmas, I was getting so depressed about looking and getting nothing. Now I am back to looking a few times a day.

Update on us:

Job:

Charry got a job at Wal-Mart as a cashier before Christmas, as a holiday worker. She loves the job. There are a few other filipina's there that even speak her dialect. However, being holiday help she might not be kept :( they are in the process of determining which workers they will keep so she is hoping.

Health:

We were refered to a specialist about Charry's leg. She has an issue with her achilies tendon and it is really tight. A result is that she can not stand flat on that foot. To compensate she wears 3" heals almost all the time, which is not good. While the doc was looking at her leg, ankle, and foot he did some xrays of both lets all the way to her hips to see why one leg was shorter than the other. The hip shot got almost all of her chest in it, and we found out that she has Scoliosis. I rechecked her chest xray from her medical in the Philippines and I can just barely see it. The chest xray is looking for other things so there is a void in the middle of her chest where the xrays did not penetrate her body fully but on the side of the void you can just barely see her spine. WE did not notice it until after seeing the new ones the doctor took.

Ss a result of this her hips are a not straight? Even? So one hip socket is higher than the other. So, we are not going to do anything about her foot right now so we can see what can be done about her back and hips. This is 2 fold: 1. We want to have children someday and we are not sure what having her hips out of allignment like this would do to that possibility yet. And 2. If we have her back and hips fixed it will make her legs the same length and will probably have some impact on the ankle issues. It might even releave some tension on the tendon.
