We called the customer service number yesterday, since it has actually been OVER 90 days since the receipt date for our whole packet, and they will do a service request for an interim EAD. If we don't hear from them in 45 days :blink: then we are to call again.

:huh:

Didn't even bother asking about the AOS, maybe the interview letter will come soon.

I have my interview letter but there is no news of my I-130 being approved, is this weird? Also it says INITIAL interview... is this right?

05/29/2008 --- Entry into the US on Visa Waiver to visit my girlfriend for a summer holiday and to help take care of her sick father where needed.

06/20/2008 -- After the sad passing of my girlfriend's father, we decided to get married and stay together

08/08/2008 --- We get married, lovely ceremony and dinner with all of Sarah's family present :-)

08/25/2008 --- AOS package sent to Chicago via Fedex overnight priority mail. Fingers crossed now!

08/26/2008 -- AOS Package received in Chicago, signed for by A.Smith (1 day before my VWP expires!)

09/02/2008 -- Checks cashed!!

09/03/2008 -- NOA1 received for I-485, I-130 and I-765.

09/05/2008 -- Case is shown online as pending!!

09/08/2008 -- Biometrics appointment letter received for September 23rd!! (For both I-485 and I-765)

09/12/2008 -- Biometrics walk-in completed, 11 days before the appointment! In Hackensack NJ.

09/20/2008 -- RFE for I-485 received. It was dated September 17.

09/25/2008 -- RFE response evidence sent out to Lee's Summit by USPS, certified mail.

I have my interview letter but there is no news of my I-130 being approved, is this weird? Also it says INITIAL interview... is this right?

I think they say "initial interview" because there will be another interview for lifting conditions. I don't know how the I-130 works because my husband had a K1 and we did not have to file one. It makes sense for them to schedule the interview while it's still pending if they are scheduling that far out (two months), but I don't know how it works.

GFL---it sounds like if they issued an RFE, they probably just need whatever documents it was for and then will approve you. I don't know that for a fact, but that is what it sounds like to me.

I recevied 2 emails from CRIS.... MY AP document was approved... :thumbs: However they have send me an RFE for my I-485... I still have not recevied the letter so I stil do not know what it is about... However my EAD docuemnt was not touched???? I do not understando why they would approve my AP but not the EAD. Also because I had that info pass appoiment for the EAD and they told they were expediting it. WHen I asked about the AP they told me they could not expedite the AP..?? I am glad I can go home and visit but I still can not work????

Any thoughts??

First of all, the fact that the computer shows no touch doesn't really mean anything---sometimes it updates, sometimes not. Second, I believe the AP and EAD are processed separately, so yeah, they could approve the AP and then a few days later work on the AP.

You will probably get it soon. For most people they seem to be pretty close in time.

I think they say "initial interview" because there will be another interview for lifting conditions.

Actually according to the filing instructions for the application to lift conditions there will be no second interview.

Also my friends and people who have gone through the immigration process lately report that people rarely get a second interview.

I think they use to require everyone to go through the hell with multiple interviews long time ago, but now they wave this requirement due to the heavy work load.

none of my friends had it

as the matter of fact it says if for any reason you get divorced anytime after getting your temporary GC than you don't have to wait for 2 years to apply and you will get your 10-year-GC obviously without the interview.

and you know, they may do, whatever they want :(

someone mentioned, they are busy at this moment, but may have lighter workload in future.

it's not that we want to go there again... but we may ...
