I looked at the guides and it states to include paystubs for the last 6 months. My problem is I did spring cleaning before my then-fiance came to the US and I know I threw out most of my paystubs (I didnt realize I needed the last 6 months).

We are including in the Affidavit of Support package:

1) My employment letter stating my 2008 income

2) 2005, 2006, & 2007 Federal copies of my returns

3) My 2 recent paystubs and whatever paystubs I have left at home. My recent paystub shows my year-to-date income.

Is it absolutely necessary to include 6 months worth of paystubs for the AOS package?

Has anyone had an RFE because of not submitting their paystubs for the last 6 months?

6 months worth is only a suggestion in I-864 instructions, it is NOT a requirement. A few recent ones will be fine.

You may include evidence supporting your claim about your expected income for the current year if you believe that submitting this evidence will help you establish ability to maintain sufficient income. You are not required to submit this evidence, however, unless specifically instructed to do so by a Government official. For example, you may include a recent letter from your employer, showing your employer's address and telephone number, and indicating your annual salary. You may also provide pay stub(s) showing your income for the previous six months. If your claimed income includes alimony, child support, dividend or interest income,or income from any other source, you may also include evidence of that income.
