I went to the Social Security Admin office to apply a SSN for my step-daughter, they told me that they need a Work Authorization form (since she's on 4 years old) to proceed , and/or a green card .

Is that right ?

K-1 Visa

When u aply for her AOS you also have to file the form I-765 (EAD) for her in order to get a SSN.

REMOVING OF CONDITION

08/02/2010 I-751 sent with K2 & my son

08/12/2010 Check cashed

08/06/2010 NOA (received 08/16/2010)

08/18/2010 My son's check was cashed

09/27/2010 Biometrics appointment

10/26/2010 APPROVED

11/1/2010 10yrs GC in the mail

or simply wait for the greencard

That's weird, because my wife was here on the K1 Visa and she was able to apply for a sNN after 2 weeks.

I guess your wife had a 90days work authorization stamp in her passport. I had that stamp in mine (came through JFK) and thats why i got my SSN. My daughter (7) doesn't have her SSN yet, we are waiting for her EAD approval/Card.

K-1 has different rules about getting a SSN compared to K-2, K-3, and K-4 from what I understand.
