Don't buy a New Mini, PT Cruiser, or a VW Beetle - unless you have pots of money to spare.

Some shocking maintenance costs on what now a not very valuable car... As I said - cracked headlight: $400 from the manufacturer. Coolant Temperature sensor and coolant flush - $250.

The Prius is still ridiculously priced, even at $4 gas. I'm not paying to feel good, I'll let the saps with money to burn do that.

We've learned our lesson with novelty cars. Next time I'm buying something practical.

Beyond the price-tag, why don't they make the car more attractive? It's by far one of the most non attractive cars on the road. Nissan even had the nerve to change the Sentra's body style, which looks very similar to the Prius. Needless to write (but I will) that both cars just don't set off that oh gotta have it look to me. If it were not for the fuel efficiency of the Prius. I doubt that people would actually buy it.

VW Beetle

I feel that this VW bunch is not any different than a crook I once worked for until figured him out.

That's the last time I let the wife choose the car.

Still I hadn't been in the country that long - and the car that she previously bought with her own money had just been written off in a crash, so I didn't feel that it was appropriate to tell her what to buy. She wanted the VW so....

As soon as I saw this article I knew you are going to love this idea.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

My husband works at Toyota...they currently have a longggggg waiting list for the Prius. All purchased at MSRP. I do agree, I think it's ugly but people don't seem to care. They sell like hotcakes in California.

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.

We're still worring about the cost of the prius, but, don't seem to grasp the bigger picture on oil consumption. We are literally financing a foreign country that dictates the way America runs our own economy. Is that good? Should we control our own economy, or have a foreign source control our economy?
