Hi everyone, I am working on the paperwork for my brother to be my fiance's co-sponsor. He owns his own business and meets the requirements for the I-134, but he owes about $800 in taxes to the feds. He is working on paying it off in the next few months, but does anyone have any idea if that will make him inelligible to be a co-sponsor? Thank you!!

Oweing for back taxes doesn't come into play! Since he's self employed have him get tax transcripts from IRS.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Hi, I am not familiar with the process for K1, as I am in the process of getting my packet together for mailing to USCIS. I do hope things go well for your application. I am filling out my paperwork and am wondering. if I make a mistake, can I use whiteout? I know this must sound like a rediculously dumb question. But, I really do want to be as accurate as possible. Also, on the I129F for, it asks where my fiance will file for a visa abroad. As I am filing a K1-visa app. as her sponsor. do i need to put the consulate abroad in that space? please share your experiences with me. thanks.

As far as the whiteout... why not just print another form.. or better yet, fill it all out online. ;) I'd say that's a better course of action when a mistake is made. ;)

You are filing a K1 petition for your fiance with the uscis. This approved petition (I129f) is then sent to NVC and then off to the Consulate in your fiance's country to process. It is out of the uscis hands now and up to the USEM in your fiance's country to decide whether or not she receives the visa. This is the consulate you mark in that spot. The USEM you will be dealing with is Bangkok.

I owed $864 to the IRS at the time of my K1 process and still didn't get denied for my fiance's visa. USCIS bases your total income before taxes to determine if you meet the 125% poverty line. They do not consider if you owe taxes, pay child support, alimony, have bad credit, and the like. As long as you meet the 125% poverty line then you will be fine.

Good Luck.
