I was honest on mine and put unknown. Cause at this point, I really do not know what options are viable. I am sure someone has better advice than that.

i am filling out the DS-230 and i don'tknow what to answer for the question: what occupation you intend to work in USA?

thank you for the help

You can put homemaker, or any other profession. It really doesn't matter.

In my case, my wife is MBA in Finance and Marketing, she had learned IT too. She wants to start in an IT firm, so I put Software Consultant over there.

So, you can put any profession that's related with her education. If applicant doesn't want to work, put Homemaker.

Good luck
