What I find funny though is that some of the same people who will cling to the 2nd Amendment and go on about THEIR RIGHTS (damn it) are the first to say it's okay for the government to dig into personal records, to be monitored by the government, etc. all in the name of "homeland security". It seems contradictory to me.

kinda like those who say it's not ok for the goverment to dig into personal records, or for the government to monitor people, or any form of homeland security yet they are all for taking away guns from the law abiding population?

When did I say (and find it in this thread please) that guns should be taken away from RESPONSIBLE, well trained people? If y'all feel the need to hang on to your gun for safety, so be it. I DO wish their were some tighter controls though.

show me where i said you said it :innocent:

you implied with your little

HA! :jest:

i'm not always talking about you :luv:

Yes you are. Everytime I PM you, you wax on about Fracas and how cool she is. I think the nun thing has something to do with it, though.... did you have a thing for the sisters in Catholic school?

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Here's what I think is so contradictory about the 2nd Amendment as it relates to things in the US today.

We've got the right to own a gun to protect ourselves from a government run amuck.

Now, it seems to me we've got a load of people with good jobs and fully bellies who are mildly irritated about the cost of gasoline but hey - they can afford it, it doesn't affect them so big deal. A lot of these people think the current government is running just fine.

We've also got a load of people who are crunching the numbers in their heads all day at work, wondering how when they drive home that evening if they've got enough gas in the tank to make it to the deep-discount grocer to pick up a can of Spam for dinner. A lot of these people think the government is screwing them and they probably have a cousin over in Iraq.

If the second group of people ever get pissed off enough to rise up against the government who isn't paying attention to how they are going to get to work or buy milk, the first group of people is gonna think they are out of line - and pretty soon everybody is gonna be shooting at each other.

Then we're gonna have marshall law - and won't that be pretty.

This was a woman with a concealed weapon permit? The example of responsible gun ownership?

Yes, of course accidents happen, but guns are tools designed to kill and are very efficient. It is possible to kill with other tools but the efficiency rate drops dramatically hence why our troops aren't all armed with plastic bags and knives.

Still, you guys love your guns and of course granny does need to protect herself from those muggers in Sams...

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I wonder if there's a special forces unit in Iraq that's trained exclusively in the art of killing with common household objects: plastic bags, paper plates, elastic bands and paper-clips.

I can see it now - each soldier is equipped with a several packets of Glad Bags and a roll of cling film :P

They probably parachute out of the plane using a giant Force Flex bag ;)

I'm sure you've heard the rumours of the SAS Blue Peter unit - notorious for their skill with pipe cleaners and sticky-backed plastic

See there, if the NRA were allowed to do what they wanted and give a gun to all Americans and provide them with proper training this accident would not have happened. Support you local NRA group today and join or make a donation.
