What about the western women that are also doing it? They are not in any way related to islam. It's not about their religion.

For them, as I and several other said a designer cosmetic operation (like breast implants) or for some reconstructive ... I wonder how this operation could (or is) be used with rape/incest victims? Esp little children?

I can't think of a medical reason why it should be used. If it's purely psychological, I don't think it's a good idea, especially on children. It's like being raped all over again. Like something is wrong with you that needs to be "fixed".

Being in Europe and "free" is probably why they had sexual relations outside of marriage, then they have to deal with the consequences after the euphoria of being in love wears off. The reality is your upbringing and culture always play a part in your life and how you make decisions, no matter where you live.

I remember also, seeing that Dr. 2010 show. Didn't the woman have 3 children, and wasn't her ####### area during her last birth damaged extremely ... to the point it was almost detacted from her? And causing her pain and disfuntion? If I remember correctly, then I guess her reasoning for wanting the labiaplasty operation was more legit then these "fake virgins" Labiaplasty... surprises me too, having it done for medical reasons is valid I guess. But for cosmetic reasons? Maybe people just have too much money to spend? But the larger issue is, isn't this further enforcing more stereotypes about women and their bodies? And how much of this does the porn industry play into this?

Yes that womans ####### was nearly detached. She said over and over again that not only was it uncomfortable it made her feel disgusting. I am inclined to agree with you that her labiaplasty is more practical then the other designer #######'s. I don't know how much the porn industry plays into it but I do believe body image is something that plastic surgeons have to consider. They are in an aesthetic profession, and where else are women going to get their ideas for the type of #######'s they want besides the porn mags? The question though is indeterminable as to where it starts. Did the woman get the idea from natural discomfort? Did the women get the idea from a comment a lover made once many years ago? Did the woman get the idea from looking at aesthetically pleasing images of women? Did the woman get the idea from seeing other ladies in the locker room who go to the gyms in California? It's no surprise that looking good in that region is a priority. Did the women get the idea from knowing men buy these porn mags and are sexually pleased with the images, so she wants to please her husband for approval by looking like that because of some childhood issue with her father. LOL!

As for the hymenoplasty that is a whole other ball of wax.

This is also happening in the US and is being coined as "designer #######'s".

While the article says they are not practicing Muslims it implies their religion is Islam. I do think the article is pushing that this a phenomena just among NA women which it is not. However, as many conversations have gone in MENA the men may come here and become westernized but once they go back to their MENA countries they so readily fall back into cultural norms. I would suspect that this holds true for the MENA women who have become westernized as well.
