Hi my fellow VJ'ers :) ..... I will be having my biometrics on June 19. I'm wondering if I have to be there on the exact time stated in my appointment letter or making it within the day will also be okay. And, do you think my passport will suffice as a proof of identification to present along with my appointment letter?Thank you in advance to those who will take time to answer me.

Usually they only give one notice for both appointments, but in VERY rare cases people get separate notices.

Many times I heard of people going in EARLIER than their appointment time (by hours or even days) and there was no problem at all, they did the biometrics immediately. I haven't heard of anyone going in LATER though, so couldn't comment on that.

My biometrics was at 3 pm. We reached there at 2:45 and were done by 2:55.I carried the biometrics appointment letter, marriage certificate, passport and a photo ID with married name coz appointment letter was in married name and passport and marriage cert was in my maiden name. The guard gave me a form to fill and a number to call me.

It was quick and easy process. First the finger prints and then a photo and thats it (we all even had a laugh about my first photo coz I was looking at my husband and had a lop sided smile that made me look crazy. He just took another one).

You will be ok. Its the easiest process so far...

Hello,

If you have change of name in the application bring your marriage certificate as well..

Thanks for reminding to bring my marriage certificate. I don't have SSN yet so I don't have any other ID that will show my married name.

I had my biometrics in KC in December last year. We were there 15-20 minutes before the appointment.

Don't worry. People there are polite. Everything will be o.k.

Thanks :). I was kinda worried how it is like in KC. Is it a busy USCIS office?

USCIS office is not very big. When I was at my appointment (in December) there were 10-15 other people waiting for different things - not only biometrics. The employees taking fingerprints are expeditious (in contrast with immigration officers :) ). Don't worry. Everything will be o.k.

Wish you fast process.

I have my biometrics on June 18th at the Kansas City office at 2pm.

I was wondering - what advantage does having your AOS transferred to CSC make? Does it make the process quicker?

Thanks

It most likely means you won't have an interview and that you're close to the end of th AOS process.

I had my Biometrics yesterday in NYC and I WAS THE ONLY ONE THERE :lol:

It was bizarre, but I got out in 10 minutes. Didn't even need my passport, they took state ID.

I read from previous posts of other VJ members that they skipped the interview part of the process and their AOS application was transferred to CSC. You'll just be a day ahead of me for our biometrics :). I'll have mine on June 19 at 10 am. Good luck to us (F)

Glad to know you had an easy and fast biometrics. Wish mine will be like that too :). I don't have a state ID or SSN yet so I'll have to present my passport and marriage certificate as proof of my married name in the appointment letter. Good luck to your AOS process. Hope you'll be transferred soon to CSC.
