Hey,

We are trying to prepare the packet for NVC with the letter from my husbands job etc.

However, there´s a small problem.

My husband has not filed taxes with the IRS for several years, and theres not really any valid excuse why he hasnt. Is there any suggestions to how we can deal with this???

Also, will the uscis just send the approved petition on to NVC without further notice and when should we expect to receive the first bills and packages from NVC???. I checked on the USCIS page where we have created an account to receive emails and it hasnt been touched since May 22 when we was approved, so I really have no clue whether or not the case has been sent on to NVC.

Im not sure if I got it right, but from what Ive read on here, we will both receive a packet. Is the package I will receive out here in Europe full of papers I will have to send back to NVC or is that the papers I will need to bring along to the embassy for my interview???.

I noticed that the choice of agent formular I will have to return to NVc or can do by email, but what about the rest???

My Visa journey:

Married August 10, 2007 in NYC

I-130 mailed to VSC via Chicago: March 13, 2008

NOA1 received: March 24, 2008

NOA2 received: May 22, 2008 (Approved yaaaaay!!!)

DS3032 choice of agent generated: June 14, 2008

Mailed Choice of Agent: June 14, 2008 (and emailed the NVC as well with my Choice Of Agent hoping to speed up things a bit)

Hubby received IV bill: June,2008

DS3032 entered the system: June 23, 2008

Thought my child needed the same papers as I did so we petitioned for him and decided to let his papers reac NVC before taking further action, but discovered he is indeed eligible for U.S citizenship- 7 months wasted arrrrrghhh! NOW WE ARE IN A HURRY! :)

You deal with not having filed tax returns by filing tax returns. This is a big issue. Take it seriously.

Yes your NOA2 is your notice USCIS will send the case to NVC. You won't see anymore updates to your case on the USCIS website. NVC is part of Dept. of State. Call them for updates and your new case number.

Since not everyone knows that there is a cutoff, I asked. Sorry if that offends you.

Actually, I'm not sorry. I couldn't care less if it bothers you. Anyone as ####### as to get out the RED BOLD lives for such little offenses. Glad to have been of some small service to you.

hello Ya,

I am only going to reply to your most immediate problem:TAXES!!! Your visa approval will not take place until the tax issue is dealt with. This is very serious sh-t here in the U.S. I had not filed my taxes for a few years before i met my wife and after realizing the impact this ignorant act was having on not only my life but now my wifes' life I called the IRS and threw myself to the wolves. Note to self:Begging does note help. Penalties&Interest accumulate very quickly. All said, I filed my back years And set up a payment plan so that i would not be "Not in compliance". Many people have their own stories about dealing with the IRS. I got some advise from a tax pro and i followed it:

1. Start by filing the last 3 years returns(if you have more than that only file the last 3 yrs initially)

2. Don't be aggressive, rude or a smart-### to whoever you are talking to on the phone.(good advise for day-to-day life).Remember your the one that Screwed the Pooch, not the Shmuck on the phone.

3. If you dont owe, they will just take some penalties out of your returns and send you the rest, however most serial nonfilers owe for each year.Odd how that works!!

4. If needed set up a payment plan that you know you can deal with. If you can pay them off in full,GREAT!!. Do it. Because if you are doing a payment plan with the IRS aka. "THE MAN" and you miss a payment your agreement with them is Null and Void ...payment in full due immediately.

5. If you are really in the weeds "owe alot of back taxes" get a tax attorney. Your attorney can negotiate with the IRS. They dont like to negotiate with the average guy.

Please, Please, Please! Get this behind you as fast as legally possible. I let mine got on way too long. Sticking your head in the sand does not work. Trust me on that one.

I hope you get this all worked out soon. Good Luck!!

Do not judge a man by his mistakes, judge him by what he learns from those mistakes.
