I use XOOM ever since I got here, NO HASSLES cause my sis has an account at Banco De Oro a lot easier than Cebuana and other bank, Cebuana sucks not a good way for cash pick up, I recommend Banco De Oro, they'll even give and offer the recipient an ATM for withdrawing the cash for free....

I always used Western Union and I have only used XOOM twice just for a trial. A month ago and it was delivered to my Mom's residence (5 days transactions) and the last was 4 days ago and I deposited it directly to my BPI bank account, so my Mom can just withdraw money through the ATM. I haven't heard of these problems but I'm glad I read this one so we can be careful about these modus operandi...

hi everyone,

i was trying to check if XOOM is really good with their service.. We've been using Western Union for three years and i can say that its fast however as I check the fee, it is expensive..

Now, i want to know if we will use the XOOM through Value Service- how many days should i wait to claim my money? I saw a reply from a lady wherein she had waited for 5 days because her hubby used a checking account.. is this true? please let me know so that i can tell my husband later on.

i have been using xoom also but latrly when i go to send it comes up on the screen credit card access denied well i tried like 7 times one day and ended up sending 1400 dollars the bank approved it so money was on hold for 3 days then was released back to my account i have stopped using xoom now and go to walmart it is only 8 usd for trans. through money gram

go back then, hubby used to send me money through XOOM, and i also encountered a problem, when i was going to pick up the money, the teller at BDO told me that i already pick up the money a month ago,.. which is something never happened, i tried to explain to the teller, but ofcourse they dont listen and advice me to talk to my hubby.. am so pissed off by that time, i called my hubby and told him about what happened, hubby called xoom customer service and when i go back afternoon, the problem has been solve and the teller told me that they have this upgrade blah..blahh..( i dont listen anymore cause im too tired enough to make conversation and im mad..heheh)

After that incident, i open account to BDO, so i dont need to line and wait for so long, we still use Xoom, and thankz God i dont encounter any problem anymore.. Now, am still using Xoom to send money, and (so far) am satisfied, cheap rate, quick and hasle free..

I use Xoom too...

occasional delay getting confirmation from the Philippines bank, but i send directly to an ATM account.

If you need money in minutes...."i don't believe anyone should..unless it is a EMERGENCY", then can use the more expensive Western Union.

I have used xoom for years with only one problem. The problem occurred when I tried to use the economy transfer. My money was on hold for 2 weeks and they gave me the concocted Federal Reserve story.

Besides calling Xoon, I would suggest talking with the bank manager. It is possible the teller released the money to themselves. Ask for a release time of the xoom transfer and to whom it was released. Maybe the local Baranguy can be convinced to look at the security video or maybe the request will get the banks attention.

I already had read alot about xoom's services. We used western union before but now we are using moneygram. Much cheaper and you can just claim it right away.

XOOM makes me mad really..til now no update and ive been calling them again and again and still no good news...how long do i have to wait? my family there are starving already...huh!

There are other services out there that appear to be much more reliable then XOOm. I tred it once but the fees I thought were too high. The method I use now is instant and only costs $3.00 to withdraw money. I have never had a glitch.

We always use xoom. We haven't had any problems. We sent money Thursday evening, and the transaction was complete within an hour. We always deposit the money into a bank account, no waiting in line at the bank, just go to the ATM and make a withdrawl.

hi Folks...am back! i will just want to share what i have experience lately with XOOM.COM...i sent money last week and when the reciever went there to pick up after 48 hours,the teller in Cebuana Lhuillier said that its on hold and need my permission b4 they can release the money...i was confused that time and i was thinking maybe it was not yet updated from my bank account and so my reciever went back again today,Monday.but then...they teller said that it was already bill out..so he asked when and then they give him the date and time but then it was the same date and time that he was there and told him that the money was on hold...so i called the customer service today and asked whats going on,they promise me to trace it and i will call them again later...i am freaking mad with this service right now...i am using xoom for couple times already and now i encountered this stupid thing...for sure i am not going to use this service again...never.

now i am hanging on here waiting for their answer...

is there anyone here who encountered the same thing like mine?

It says in their website that the bank should verify if first. What the heck!!! This is the first time encountering it. It really made me mad and upset.

Same thing happen to me last week because my brother-in-law has a JR in his name and on account but XOOM has no place for it so they had to verify it was same person for the account....
