I have noticed today that on the USCIS website

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/officeProc...lectedOffice=15

that the processing times for the EAD at Chicago IL have changed from 3 months to 5 what is going on?

I filed My EAD with my AOS at the beginning of May can anyone give me a guess on when I should get my EAD and AOS I’m just confused now i have seen the processing times change

Do these processing times even apply to me? is the EAD processed differently if you have applied for AOS?

Your EAD and AOS will be processed at different places. The EAD should come in between 60 - 90 days and the AOS will depend on if you have an interview and how long that takes at your local office or if you are transferred to California in which case you will not have an interview. However some cases have been sent to California and then sent to the local office so no guarantee of no interview, but it is most likely no interview. So the short answer is no way to tell when you will get your AOS, some have gotten it this year in 2 months but I think the norm seems to run between 4-6 months(I believe 2 March filers have been approved already), and then of course there are those who have waited years. Good luck and sit back and relax.

Your EAD will be approved by the national service center. So that's where you should check for it. AOS most likely by your local office.

And yes there are times when they go back in time or say that it will take longer than the previous month. Not sure why though.

And yes there are times when they go back in time ...

This happens because the processing times posted are simply their goal dates *unless* there is a backlog (or the office fell behind), that would be the only time the dates seem to go backward. Essentially - any office that is processing within their stated goal dates will all show the same date. If an office falls behind it will show a true date of that oldest file yet to be processed.

That's what happened with my local office. In march their date was June 15th 07. In April it went back to May 16th 07 and this month went forward again to June 02 07.

So I think they fell behind...
