It finally rains after weeks of hot sun and the wet earth smells so divine!

You live in Florida, don't you?

I love it when your laptop stops working so you drag it all the way to Canada with you (and literally fall over it in the airport cause you have so much stuff) for your future son-in-law to fix and he calls a few hours later to ask "What, exactly, is wrong with it?" Yep... you guessed it.... it worked fine for him. Guess it just needed a vacation.

Oh, I'm sorry. I guess this should have been in the vent thread. :hehe:

You get your pretty new Target Visa card (which you applied for as a Canadian) in the mail the day before you get your SS Card in the mail, so you call customer service and advise them that you have emigrated from Canada to the States and they apply all your new info, and then you are instantly building credit in the US. Now I don't have to use my Canadian cc with the stupid 2.5% surcharge in the US, and I have avoided getting a secured card. Yay! And whoever posted here on VJ about this idea - THANKS!!

Also, I love it when you wake up on Vancouver Island and look out the window and there is mist and cloud caught over the lake and the low lying hills, and it is also sunny and it is also raining lightly. It was like that here in Victoria thi morning (I'm visiting my parents).

Yippee!

It makes me smile everytme I look at your posts...and I read them again and again.

Bluegreen, you made me so homesick with your description of Vancouver Is. Congrats on your SS and credit cards.

And Warriorprincess, the smell of rain on earth (soil) is divine.

I lived on one of the golf islands and I loved it when I saw the sun streaks through the tall cedars and fir trees.

Oh the scent of the forest was intoxicating. Mmmmm....

:star:

Missing puzzle pieces huh Cassie?

Wow. Those pictures are gorgeous, Spirit. I'm homesick for BC now, too, Bluegreen. :( I'm hoping our next transfer is to the northwest so I can be close to my family out there. I'd move there in a second.

Yes, thanks for the photos, Spirit - so pretty - there is nowhere else quite like here:) My husband always said he didn't think he could handle living in the rain up here, but he was just up for the weekend and it was finally one of those amazing few days where it is sunny and perfect, and he is changing his tune...hurray!! We might not ever do it, but I like knowing it's an option we could both be happy with! Krikit I hope you get that transfer!!

don't you love it when . . . . . . a person who has a great commitment to their profession finally lands a permanent job in their true calling.

(yeah for my sister-in-law Stacey for sticking it out sub-teaching for 4 years and finally nailing it)! :star:
